We are seeking a driven Business Development Manager to accelerate growth, develop strategic partnerships, and expand our market presence across agriculture, enterprise, public safety, energy, and related industries.
Position Summary
The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, building strategic partnerships, expanding dealer and customer relationships, and driving revenue growth. This individual will work closely with leadership, sales, marketing, and operations teams to develop and execute growth strategies that strengthen Volitant's position as a leader in the drone industry.
The ideal candidate is self-motivated, relationship-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where innovation and customer success are top priorities.
Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Growth & Sales
- Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities within agriculture, enterprise, public safety, energy, surveying, and related markets.
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve revenue and growth objectives.
- Generate leads through networking, industry events, trade shows, referrals, and outbound prospecting efforts.
- Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline and accurately forecast business opportunities.
Customer & Dealer Development
- Establish and maintain long-term relationships with customers, dealers, and strategic partners.
- Recruit, onboard, and support dealer partners to expand Volitant's market reach.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to customers by understanding operational needs and recommending appropriate drone solutions.
- Conduct customer presentations, product demonstrations, and business reviews.
Strategic Partnerships
- Identify partnership opportunities that support company growth and market expansion.
- Negotiate agreements that align with Volitant's strategic goals and profitability objectives.
- Collaborate with manufacturers, industry organizations, and key stakeholders to strengthen market position.
Marketing & Industry Engagement
- Work closely with the marketing team to develop sales campaigns, presentations, proposals, and promotional materials.
- Represent Volitant Technologies at industry conferences, trade shows, customer events, and training programs.
- Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and emerging technologies to identify new opportunities.
CRM & Reporting
- Utilize CRM systems to manage customer relationships, track sales activities, and maintain accurate records.
- Monitor sales metrics, pipeline performance, and conversion rates.
- Provide regular reporting and recommendations to leadership regarding market opportunities and business development initiatives.
QualificationsRequired
- Proven experience in business development, sales, account management, or a related role.
- Demonstrated success achieving or exceeding sales and growth targets.
- Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to build relationships with customers, partners, and decision-makers at all organizational levels.
- Experience using CRM platforms to manage opportunities and customer relationships.
- Strong organizational and project management abilities.
- Willingness to travel for customer meetings, industry events, demonstrations, and trade shows.
Preferred
- Experience in agriculture, precision agriculture, aviation, drones, technology sales, equipment sales, or related industries.
- Knowledge of UAS (drone) operations, agricultural applications, or FAA regulatory environments.
- Experience managing dealer networks, channel sales, or strategic partnerships.
- Familiarity with HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar CRM systems.
