<Overview>Position Summary:
Controlled Air, part of the Yanmar Group, is seeking an experienced Senior Building Automation Technician with advanced proficiency in Johnson Controls (new and legacy platforms) and ABB Cylon products. This senior-level role is responsible for leading the programming, integration, commissioning, and optimization of complex HVAC and Building Automation Systems (BAS). The Senior Technician serves as a technical leader within the controls team, driving system implementation, advanced control logic development, energy optimization strategies, and mentoring junior technicians while delivering high-performance control systems that meet the highest industry standards.
Job Functions:
· Lead the development, programming, and commissioning of advanced BAS/BMS solutions in alignment with customer and engineer specifications
· Interpret and execute complex sequences of operation, developing detailed programming logic focused on performance, reliability, and energy efficiency
· Take ownership of assigned projects to ensure timely completion within budget parameters
· Design and implement advanced energy solutions including microgrids, cogeneration systems, hydrogen (H2) integration, and battery storage technologies
· Integrate multiple BAS platforms and third-party systems including IoT devices, MQTT, and TCOM protocols
· Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve complex system and network issues
· Support field start-up, commissioning, and system optimization
· Serve as a technical resource for junior technicians and assist in developing their programming and troubleshooting capabilities
· Collaborate closely with controls engineers, project managers, and service teams to ensure seamless project execution
· Participate in on-call rotation as required
· Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to system performance and energy savings
Leadership & Mentorship Responsibilities:
· Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and mid-level controls technicians
· Assist in developing programming standards and best practices
· Support skill development initiatives within the controls department
· Promote a culture of accountability, safety, and technical excellence
