About the Role:

The Junior Network Engineer supports the Network Services team by assisting with the design, implementation, monitoring, and troubleshooting of enterprise network environments. This is an entry-level role designed for recent college graduates or early-career professionals who are eager to build a strong foundation in networking technologies while gaining hands-on experience in a production environment.

In this role, you will work closely with experienced Network Engineers and cross-functional IT teams to support network stability, performance, and security. You’ll gain exposure to routing and switching protocols, automation and scripting, and emerging technologies such as AI and machine learning applied to network operations and optimization.

What You’ll Do:

• Assist with configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of network devices including routers, switches, and firewalls under the guidance of senior engineers

• Support implementation and maintenance of network protocols such as TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, and IS-IS

• Help document network configurations, procedures, and topology diagrams

• Utilize Python scripting to assist with network automation, data collection, and operational efficiency initiatives

• Monitor network performance and assist in identifying, escalating, and resolving connectivity or performance issues

• Collaborate with infrastructure, systems, and security teams to support integrated IT solutions

• Assist with testing, deployment, and validation of network changes in lab and production environments

• Follow and support network security standards, change management processes, and operational best practices

What You Bring:

• 0–2 years of experience in networking, IT infrastructure, or related roles (internships and co-ops welcome)

• Hands-on experience with or strong interest in Python scripting for automation and network operations

• Exposure to AI or machine learning concepts and interest in how they apply to networking or IT operations

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Network Engineering, or a related discipline

• Foundational knowledge of networking concepts and protocols, including TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, and IS-IS

• CCNA certification required; additional Cisco or Juniper certifications a plus

• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and desire to learn complex systems

• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
