Job Summary
Solar Liberty is seeking an organized, driven, and customer-focused Project Manager to oversee solar projects from contract execution through project completion from the office. This position combines traditional project management responsibilities with project development activities, requiring close collaboration with customers, utilities, AHJs, engineering teams, subcontractors, and internal departments.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously while helping advance opportunities through development, permitting, utility coordination, and construction execution.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management
- Manage residential and commercial solar projects from handoff through completion
- Coordinate project schedules, resources, and timelines to ensure successful execution
- Track project milestones and proactively identify potential delays or risks
- Collaborate with construction, engineering, procurement, permitting, and operations teams
- Maintain project documentation, reporting, and status updates
- Manage project budgets, change orders, and project financial performance
- Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget
- Coordinate inspections, utility approvals, commissioning, and project closeout activities
Project Development & Pre-Construction
- Support project development activities including site feasibility reviews and project planning
- Coordinate with engineering teams to advance projects through design and approval stages
- Assist with utility interconnection applications and utility communications
- Support permitting efforts and work with local jurisdictions to secure approvals
- Coordinate site surveys, engineering reviews, and pre-construction requirements
- Help identify and resolve development challenges before projects reach construction
- Assist in evaluating project opportunities and determining overall project viability
Customer & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as a primary point of contact for customers throughout project execution
- Provide proactive communication regarding project status, milestones, and expectations
- Coordinate with property owners, utility representatives, AHJs, subcontractors, and consultants
- Maintain strong customer relationships and deliver a positive customer experience
Business Development Support
- Support sales and business development teams during project transition and execution
- Participate in customer meetings when technical or project expertise is needed
- Help identify opportunities for project expansion, battery storage integration, or additional services
- Support proposal reviews and project planning discussions as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Project Management, or related field preferred
- 3+ years of project management experience in construction, renewable energy, electrical contracting, or related industries
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage schedules, budgets, and project documentation
- Familiarity with permitting, utility coordination, and construction processes preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and project management software
- Experience with Procore preferred
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as needed
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
