[Position Summary: Provide comprehensive and appropriate dental care and treatment to patients. Provide supervision to dental assistants and Dental Hygienist as assigned. Dentists diagnose, prevent, and treat problems with teeth or mouth tissue. They remove decay, fill cavities, examine X-rays, place protective plastic sealants on children's teeth and repair fractured teeth.

Dentists extract teeth and make models and measurements for dentures to replace missing teeth. They provide instruction on diet, brushing, flossing, the use of fluorides, and other aspects of dental care. They also administer anesthetics and write prescriptions for antibiotics and other medications.

Dentists use a variety of equipment, including x-ray machines; drills; and instruments such as mouth mirrors, probes, forceps, brushes, and scalpels. They wear masks, gloves, and safety glasses to protect themselves and their patients from infectious diseases. Willing to participate in the CQI Program Activities.

9. Ensure all patient records, charts, and all related documentation is maintained current

and consistent with best practices in the dental care field, as well as within all relevant

regulatory and accreditation standards in all areas of day to day operations.

10. Provide advice and counsel to all clinical personnel on matters related to clinical care,

patient grievances and related issues. Minimize risk and exposures to the organization

relationships within the local dental care community as well as with third party insurance

resources. Minimize conflict, maximize services, and ensure patients treated through the

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education

 Licensed to practice dentistry in the state(s) in which organization operates.

 D.D.S. or D.M.D.

 Additional advanced degree in business, public health, healthcare administration or

Experience

scope.

Working Conditions

Dentists must spend long hours on their feet. They must take precautions against infectious diseases and be able to deal with tense patients. Because they often have several helpers, dentists must be able to supervise the work of others. They should also have good business sense. · All PCHS staff whether employed or contract are obligated to abide by PCHS Leave Policy as stated in PCHS Policy and Procedures Manuals as set by the PCHS Board of Directors. This indicated that any vacation time or leave is asked for in a timely manner, to assist us with preparing for coverage, re-scheduling or back up.

Timely written notice, as per policy must be given to PCHS, in order to be eligible for any vacation time accrued, that is to say if you are eligible, which means you are not in any probationary period and you have been employed consecutively for at least one year at PCHS. Failure to provide timely written notification, as per policy, will forfeit any eligible vacation time. Sick time is not a payable benefit under any circumstances at time of departure, this benefit is forfeited.
