What You'll Do
Key responsibilities include:
- Manage multiple electrical construction projects from kickoff through closeout.
- Oversee project financial performance, including forecasting, billing, cost tracking, reporting, and profitability.
- Identify, price, submit, and secure approval for change orders.
- Maintain project schedules, proactively prevent delays, and accurately forecast labor requirements.
- Lead project pre-planning efforts with Virtual Construction, Estimating, Purchasing, and field leadership teams.
- Manage schedules of values (SOVs), purchase orders, subcontracts, RFIs, submittals, and project documentation.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, general contractors, consultants, and subcontractors.
- Lead project meetings and coordinate communication among project stakeholders.
- Mentor and develop Project Engineers and project support staff.
- Ensure accurate project reporting, documentation, and completion of closeout requirements.
- Collaborate with field leadership to ensure safe, efficient, and successful project execution.
- Identify project risks, resolve issues proactively, and maintain customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate:
- Has extensive experience managing electrical construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
- Demonstrates strong knowledge of project financial management, forecasting, budgeting, and project accounting.
- Has experience preparing and negotiating change orders.
- Possesses a strong understanding of contract documents, construction drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
- Effectively manages multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.
- Builds strong relationships with clients, contractors, vendors, and internal teams.
- Demonstrates exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Has a proven ability to drive project success while maintaining profitability and customer satisfaction.
Experience & Education
- Minimum 5+ years of electrical project management experience required.
- Experience with change order estimating, project accounting, forecasting, and cost management required.
- Completion of an electrical apprenticeship or 10–15 years of electrical construction industry experience preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, Spectrum, Bluebeam, PlanGrid, Procore, or similar construction management software.
- Experience managing commercial, healthcare, education, industrial, public works, or other complex electrical construction projects preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to travel to project sites and wear required PPE.
- Ability to stand and walk on jobsites for extended periods.
- Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and access active construction environments as needed.
- Ability to lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 35 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to review project documents, plans, specifications, and reports for extended periods.
- Regular, reliable attendance.
