About the Role
The Engineering Manager is primarily responsible for the ongoing supervision, planning and development of engineering department personnel, for preparing product designs, submittal packages for our customers, checking and stamping drawings as needed along with providing technical support to our customers and internal departments (sales, production, estimation).
Responsibilities
- Supervise and develop engineering staff, ensuring access to internal and external resources that maintain a current and comprehensive knowledge base.
- Maintain a proactive approach to work schedules, priorities, and resource allocation.
- Provide technical support to sales teams and plant personnel.
- Enter new projects and drawing requests into the engineering work schedule and ensure timely follow-up.
- Review project plans and specifications to verify accuracy and completeness.
- Ensure accurate files are created on all projects and correspondence is maintained.
- Manage and coordinate work between project coordinators, draftsperson and design engineers.
- Review technical aspects of project-related products to ensure compliance with required specifications and performance criteria.
- Conduct job site visits as required.
- Keep product designs current with applicable specifications, codes and standards.
- Review customer plans and specifications for special requirements, especially as it relates to high-profile projects as needed.
- Prepare structural pipe and fitting designs in accordance with applicable standards.
- Prepare structural designs for precast products in accordance with applicable standards.
- Interact with Contractors, Consulting Engineers, Municipalities and other external specifiers as necessary.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
- 5+ years of experience in precast concrete structures/vaults design and engineering.
Required Skills
- Ability to lead and manage in a technical organization.
- Demonstrated success building workflows, KPIs, and governance systems that improve turnaround time, quality, and cross-functional alignment.
- Strong knowledge of relevant codes/standards and practical constructability considerations for precast structures.
- High learning agility and bias for action; able to dive into complex technical and operational problems and deliver results.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Capable of working with technology-enabled process improvement systems (QPS, ERP, CRM, CAD, Power BI) or similar tools.

Pay: $108,000.00 - $175,000.00 per year
