About the Role

We are seeking a Product Manager / Product Sales professional to lead our Power Products category, including wall taps, surge protectors, multi-outlet strips, and extension cords. This role owns category strategy and execution—from assortment optimization and pricing to competitive benchmarking and sourcing collaboration—serving as a key partner to retail customers in the hardware channel.

The preferred location is West Chicagoland; we are open to hybrid or remote candidates with the right experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the Power Products category as the subject-matter expert, driving strategy, roadmap, and day-to-day category decisions.
• Partner with retail hardware buyers and internal sales teams to support growth, line reviews, assortment planning, and execution.
• Evaluate and improve existing assortments: identify gaps, recommend additions/changes, and rationalize underperforming SKUs.
• Monitor market trends: track competitors, new product launches, pricing moves, promotions, and channel dynamics.
• Develop pricing: build pricing models, margin targets, and recommendations aligned to competitive positioning and retailer requirements.
• Drive product competitiveness: recommend features, specifications, packaging, and compliance needs to maintain or improve position in the market.
• Support sourcing and supplier management: collaborate with factories and sourcing partners on cost, lead times, quality, specs, and production readiness.
• Create product and category documentation: item setup details, spec sheets, sell-in materials, and category insights for internal and customer use.
• Cross-functional leadership: coordinate with operations, quality, sales, marketing, and sourcing to launch and maintain products successfully.

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience in product management and/or product sales within consumer products.
• Strong category knowledge of power accessories (wall taps, surge protectors, outlet strips, extension cords).
• Demonstrated experience working with buyers in the retail hardware channel (e.g., hardware retail, home improvement, regional chains, distributors).
• Hands-on understanding of sourcing and factory collaboration, including cost negotiations, specifications, lead times, and quality considerations.
• Track record of building assortment recommendations and pricing strategies based on market and competitor analysis.
• Strong analytical skills and comfort working with data (POS, pricing, margin, competitive sets).
• Excellent communication skills and ability to influence across functions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with line reviews, planograms, and assortment strategy for retail.
• Familiarity with relevant standards/compliance considerations in power products (as applicable to your product set).
• Existing relationships in the retail hardware channel.
