Project Manager — Utility-Scale Solar Electrical Installation

Position Overview
Texon Solar is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the electrical construction scope for a 4.5 MW DC ground-mount solar installation located in Middleburg, Pennsylvania.
The Project Manager will be responsible for coordinating Texon’s field operations, manpower, subcontractors, materials, schedule, safety, quality control, milestone documentation, and communication with the general contractor, owner, utility, and inspection authorities.
This role is critical to ensuring that the project is completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with the project drawings, specifications, milestone schedule, and contractual requirements.
Project Scope
The Project Manager will oversee Texon’s electrical contractor scope, including but not limited to:
- Mobilization, site setup, laydown coordination, and safety planning
- Material receiving, inspection, storage, and documentation
- DC combiner installation
- PV source circuit wiring and module-to-module connections
- DC homerun wiring, trenching coordination, conduit, and pad stub-ups
- Inverter installation and terminations
- Low-voltage AC feeder installation and terminations
- LV switchboard and transformer interface coordination
- DAS, met station, auxiliary power, and communications installation
- Medium-voltage pole-line coordination and installation support
- MV equipment installation, including GOAB, metering, recloser, riser, and related utility interface work
- Grounding, bonding, labeling, wire management, and QA/QC documentation
- Equipment testing, commissioning support, punch list completion, and final closeout
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day project execution for Texon’s electrical scope.
- Coordinate field crews, equipment, deliveries, inspections, and work sequencing.
- Maintain the project schedule and ensure work progresses toward required milestone dates.
- Track progress against milestone billing requirements and provide supporting documentation.
- Coordinate with the general contractor, utility representatives, inspectors, engineers, and other trades.
- Review drawings, specifications, schedules, and scope documents to identify conflicts, missing information, or potential change-order items.
- Manage RFIs, submittals, daily reports, field changes, and closeout documentation.
- Verify labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor needs before each work phase.
- Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with OSHA, NEC, project specifications, and company safety requirements.
- Lead weekly coordination meetings and internal schedule reviews.
- Maintain accurate records of manpower, production, delays, deliveries, inspections, and completed work.
- Support commissioning, testing, energization coordination, punch list resolution, and project turnover.
Required Experience
- Prior project management experience in commercial, industrial, or utility-scale solar construction REQUIRED.
- Strong understanding of solar electrical construction, including DC wiring, AC collection, inverters, switchboards, grounding, trenching, DAS, testing, and commissioning.
- Experience managing field crews and coordinating multiple work fronts.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, conductor schedules, site plans, and construction details.
- Familiarity with NEC requirements, OSHA safety standards, and utility-scale construction practices.
- Experience tracking schedules, milestones, billing documentation, change orders, and project closeout.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work on site and coordinate directly with field personnel, subcontractors, and the GC.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with medium-voltage solar interconnection work.
- Experience coordinating utility pole-line, recloser, GOAB, metering, and MV equipment scopes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, project schedules, daily reports, and construction documentation.
- OSHA 30 certification preferred.
- Electrical license or electrical field background preferred but not required.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a hands-on solar construction Project Manager who can spend the majority of the work time in the field and make use of the rare office time effectively. This person should be comfortable walking the jobsite, coordinating crews, solving problems in real time, tracking milestone progress, and communicating clearly with both field personnel and upper management.
We are looking for someone who understands that successful solar construction requires planning, documentation, safety, production tracking, and strong coordination with the GC and other trades.
Compensation
Compensation will be based on experience and project requirements. Travel, lodging, and per diem will be provided depending on the candidate’s location and project assignment.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
