Honest Outlaw, a 1.7 million follower YouTube channel in the Des Moines, Iowa area, seeks a fun, knowledgeable, talented video editor to grow our brand.

We are seeking a dynamic and creative Video Editor to join our vibrant media team! In this role, you will be the driving force behind transforming raw footage into compelling visual stories that captivate audiences and elevate our brand presence. Your expertise in editing, post-production, and videography will help craft engaging content across multiple platforms, ensuring each project resonates with viewers. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your technical skills and artistic vision in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

Our current brand is 1 main channel with 2 much smaller associated channels that we would like to grow.

We are looking for a fun, creative, talented, self-motivated, knowledgeable person to join our team at Honest Outlaw.

This job is held onsite at Outlaw Headquarters, with the potential for work from home days.

This is a 1099 position with flat pay. Work hours will range from 30-40 hours/week.

Responsibilities

• Manage video and photo data for efficient workflows.
• Edit and assemble raw video footage into polished final products using Adobe.
• Incorporate motion graphics, visual effects, and animations utilizing Adobe After Effects and Adobe Illustrator to enhance storytelling.
• Collaborate with creative teams to understand project goals, style guides, and deadlines for video production projects.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high quality and attention to detail throughout the editing process.
• Conduct color correction of raw footage.
• Manage post-production tasks including sound editing, syncing audio, and adding background music or voiceovers.
• Support filming and videography efforts by setting up shots, operating cameras, and capturing high-quality footage when needed.

Skills

• The perfect video editor will have knowledge of 2A culture.
• Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Elements and beyond.
• Experience with post-production workflows including color correction, sound editing, and visual effects integration.
• Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently while adhering to tight deadlines. At this time, we produce 3 full length videos and 3 shorts/reels per week, and we are looking to begin 1-3 new channels.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with creative teams and clients.
• A keen eye for detail combined with a passion for storytelling through visual media.

Interview process:

Because we are looking for a very particular individual for this specialized position, multiple rounds of interviews will be conducted, and final round interview will require you to create a sample video with some of our footage.

Pay: From $68,000.00 per year
