I'm looking for a potential 2 people as golf shop assistants starting in late July. One role could be 30-40 hours a week through the end of September into early October.
For the right candidate the second role can be less hours at 20-25 hours a week from August - Sept.
Position Summary
The Golf Shop Assistant is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service to members and guests while supporting the daily operations of the Golf Shop. This position assists with tee time management, merchandise sales, tournament operations, and maintaining a welcoming, organized golf shop environment. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, dependable, and enjoys working in a fast-paced hospitality setting.
Essential ResponsibilitiesMember & Guest Service
- Greet members and guests in a friendly and professional manner.
- Check in golfers and assist with daily play.
- Answer telephone calls and respond to member inquiries.
- Assist members with merchandise purchases and special orders.
- Provide information regarding club events, tournaments, and golf programs.
Golf Shop Operations
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately.
- Process green fees, merchandise sales, and member charges.
- Maintain accurate opening and closing cash procedures.
- Receive, price, and stock merchandise.
- Keep the Golf Shop clean, organized, and fully stocked.
- Assist with inventory counts and merchandising displays.
Tournament & Event Support
- Assist with tournament registration and scoring.
- Prepare scorecards, cart signs, scoreboards, and tournament materials.
- Help coordinate member events, leagues, and outings.
- Assist with prize distribution and event setup.
Daily Golf Operations
- Monitor tee sheet activity and assist with pace of play when needed.
- Coordinate with Outside Operations regarding cart availability and player needs.
- Communicate with the golf course maintenance staff regarding course conditions and daily operations.
- Help maintain a professional atmosphere throughout the golf facility.
Qualifications
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Positive attitude and professional appearance.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer skills; experience with Golf Genius, Jonas, ForeUP, or similar golf software is a plus.
- Cash handling and retail experience preferred.
- Golf knowledge is preferred but not required.
- Must be dependable, punctual, and willing to work weekends, holidays, and evenings during the golf season.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to walk throughout the golf facility as needed.

Schedule
This is a seasonal position requiring flexibility, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Typical shifts range from 6–8 hours depending on operational needs.
