Senior Divisional Buyer/ Buying Category Lead (European scope)

Our Client is a leading global supplier of products for hydronic distribution systems which deliver optimal and energy efficient heating and cooling systems to the residential and commercial building sectors.

• The purpose of the role is to deliver cost/quality/delivery improvements throughout:
• managing assigned suppliers and product categories
• optimization projects – finding opportunities, defining project plans, and running execution

Key Responsibilities:

In this newly set role you will be reporting to Divisional Procurement Manager for 3rd Party Products and you will be mainly responsible for:

• defining and implementing a strategy for a given portfolio of products (valves, actuators) and vendors
• driving sourcing projects for 4 plants in Europe
• working with cross functional team(Procurement, R&D, Quality, Sales) to identify improvement opportunities
• driving improvement projects 1) best country sourcing 2) supplier rationalization 3) lead time reduction 4) stock improvement 5) payment terms improvement 6) quality improvement.
• acting as a procurement lead (coordination, sourcing) for new product development projects

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of working experience across engineering, manufacturing, procurement
• 5 years of working experience in strategic procurement (Category/Commodity Management, holding previously roles such as Category or Commodity Buyer in direct materials) within international organization
• Previous experience in automotive, complex industrial or electronics industry
• Experience in cost analysis / cost breakdowns / TCO approach
• Fluent English, German a plus
• Analytical skills accompanied by a good knowledge of Ms Excel and Ms PowerPoint
• High degree of integrity and transparency
• Ability to work within the organization at all levels
• High level of drive and personal commitment, work as an owner
• Adaptability and resilience
