What to Expect
We are seeking a hands-on Electrical Design Engineer to support the complete product development lifecycle—from concept, research, and prototyping through design, testing, validation, production, and ongoing product support.
This role plays a key part in bringing new products to market, with a focus on embedded systems, motor control, power electronics, and sensor integration. The position reports directly to the Vice President of Research & Development.
What You'll Do
- Design innovative products in a collaborative, small-team environment
- Develop schematics and PCB layouts using Altium and related design tools
- Design analog, digital, and power electronic circuits
- Develop and implement embedded control systems, including motor control applications
- Validate designs through simulation, prototype development, laboratory testing, and field testing
- Select components and materials based on performance requirements, environmental conditions, and chemical compatibility
- Build, test, troubleshoot, and refine prototypes and production units
- Create and maintain design documentation, specifications, and production records
- Author and manage engineering change orders (ECOs) and related documentation
- Design products with manufacturability, reliability, and cost objectives in mind
- Support certification, compliance, and regulatory activities
- Contribute across multiple disciplines including electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, and project engineering as needed
What You'll Bring
- Experience designing PCB-based embedded systems
- Experience with firmware development and debugging
- Experience developing motor control systems, including Field-Oriented Control (FOC) or similar control methods
- Strong product development and problem-solving skills

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- 5+ years of electrical product development experience
- 2+ years of embedded systems design experience
- 3+ years of motor control development experience
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Altium Designer
- Experience with Field-Oriented Control (FOC), variable frequency drives (VFDs), or related motor control technologies
- Experience designing products from concept through production release
- Strong analytical skills with a performance- and cost-conscious mindset
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work on-site during regular business hours, Monday through Friday

Location
Plymouth, Minnesota
Pay: $90,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
