A growing national services and distribution company is seeking an experienced, hands-on Operations Leader to oversee logistics, service delivery, customer support, vendor management, and operational execution across a geographically dispersed customer base.

This position reports directly to the CEO and offers significant opportunity for growth and expanded leadership responsibility as the organization continues to evolve.

This role is designed for a leader who wants to have a meaningful impact on the direction, growth, and operational success of a company.

The successful candidate will be equally comfortable working with customers, vendors, operational teams, and executive leadership while maintaining a relentless focus on service, accountability, execution, and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations across logistics, service delivery, customer support, and field activities.
• Provide leadership and direction to supervisors, department leaders, and operational personnel.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, and strategic partners.
• Serve as a senior point of contact for customer issues, escalations, and service concerns.
• Coordinate activities across multiple departments to ensure exceptional service delivery and customer satisfaction.
• Monitor operational performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Utilize operational data, reporting, and performance metrics to support decision-making and improve outcomes.
• Evaluate operational costs, service-delivery economics, and pricing considerations to support competitive and profitable business decisions.
• Support customers during routine operations, service disruptions, and other time-sensitive operational events requiring rapid coordination and decision-making.
• Present operational reviews, performance updates, and strategic initiatives to customers, senior leadership, and executive stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Progressive leadership experience in operations, logistics, distribution, transportation, field services, supply chain, industrial services, or similar operational environments.
• Proven ability to lead operational teams in a customer-focused business.
• Strong customer relationship management and vendor management experience.
• Excellent communication, presentation, organizational, and follow-up skills.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and make sound decisions under pressure.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to evaluate operational costs, pricing considerations, and service-delivery profitability.
• Strong analytical capabilities and experience working with operational reporting and performance metrics.
• Comfortable collaborating with technology, finance, customer support, and other business functions to support customer needs and operational objectives.
• Confident interacting with senior management, customers, and executive-level stakeholders.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in petroleum distribution, industrial gas distribution, chemical distribution, fleet services, utilities, or other operationally intensive service industries is beneficial but not required.
• Experience with national or multi-regional distribution networks, route-based operations, field services, or geographically dispersed service organizations is highly valued.
• Candidates from organizations specializing in large-scale logistics, supply chain management, industrial services, consumer products distribution, or mission-critical service delivery environments are encouraged to apply.

Data and Customer Solutions

This is not a software development or information technology role. However, the successful candidate must understand the critical role operational data plays in customer success.

Candidates should be comfortable working with operational reporting, dashboards, business intelligence tools, and performance metrics. The ability to understand how customers use information to manage assets, resources, spending, utilization, and overall performance is essential.

The successful candidate will be able to communicate effectively with both business and technical teams, understand customer requirements, and help ensure customers receive timely, accurate, and actionable information.

Work Environment

This is an in-office leadership position and is not a remote role.

Success in this position requires regular interaction with operational teams, department leaders, customers, and executive leadership. Candidates should expect to be actively engaged in the day-to-day business and available for in-person collaboration, problem-solving, and decision-making.

In addition to responsibilities at the company's primary office, the successful candidate will maintain regular engagement with a remote operating facility and should expect routine visits as needed to remain connected to operations, personnel, and business performance.

Travel is limited and generally consists of short-duration business trips.
