Sr. HVAC Controls Specialist – Building Automation
Boston Area (Onsite & Field-Based)
Compensation: $45–$65/hour DOE

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Sr. HVAC Controls Specialist to support the engineering, programming, commissioning, and startup of commercial Building Automation Systems (BAS). This individual will serve as a technical leader on projects while working closely with customers, project teams, and field personnel to ensure successful system implementation and turnover.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering & Programming
- Develop and program DDC control systems utilizing Schneider EcoStruxure, BACnet, and related platforms
- Review and implement Sequences of Operation (SOO)
- Troubleshoot BAS/BMS network communications and system functionality
- Prepare commissioning documentation and project records
Leadership & Project Support
- Serve as a technical lead on assigned projects
- Mentor and support junior technicians and engineers
- Participate in design reviews, value engineering discussions, and project coordination meetings
Commissioning & Field Operations
- Oversee installations and ensure compliance with project specifications
- Lead startup, testing, commissioning, and system validation activities
- Conduct customer training and project turnover meetings
- Manage and resolve punch-list items through project closeout
Qualifications
- 5+ years of commercial HVAC Controls / Building Automation experience
- Strong programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting skills
- Experience with Schneider EcoStruxure preferred; Niagara/Tridium experience also considered
- Working knowledge of HVAC equipment, controls, electronics, and BAS networks
- Familiarity with construction processes and industry standards
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with project teams
- Strong communication skills and customer-focused approach

This role is best suited for a senior-level BAS professional with hands-on experience programming and commissioning commercial building automation systems who is ready to take technical ownership of projects and mentor less experienced team members.
Pay: $45.00 - $65.00 per hour
