Position: Engineering Intern – Civil Requisition Apr 2026

Pay: $20-25/hr

Location: Santa Monica, CA

DELANE Engineering, Inc. is seeking a civil design intern in our Santa Monica office. Hours and duration of internship is flexible. Internship may lead to full-time employment upon graduation. Through our Intern program you will learn many necessary skills to be successful in a workplace and are expected to contribute meaningfully to the design and execution of projects working directly alongside Professional Engineers. As an Intern you will assist in all aspects of work, including research, design layout and calculations, plan production, permitting, and construction processes, utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bluebeam Revu, and other software for a variety of site development, public works, and 3D/BIM coordination projects. Design components include grading and drainage, storm water management/BMP’s, streets, parking, paving, retaining walls, utility design (such as sewer,water, and fire services), and surveying, mapping, easements and other property items. Position Requirements:

• 12 hours (min) to 24 hours (max) scheduled work per week (more during summer)
• Currently enrolled and in good academic standing pursuing a B.S. in Civil, Environmental or Construction Engineering (or similar) at an accredited University, or Community College on track for transfer to 4-year
• Anticipated Graduation Dec 2027 or later
• Must be able to work on your own, be or learn to be a self-starter with proactive task management, and enjoy a quiet work environment (very small offices)
• Must be able to communicate with project team members and local agencies, not afraid to make phone calls

Preferred but Not Required:

• E.I.T.
• Experience using AutoCAD, Excel, Outlook, etc.
• Own personal vehicle (for performing site visits, records research, permit processing, etc.)
