Position Overview
A recognized leader in providing Information Technology, Engineering Services, Program Management, and Consulting Services to the U.S. Federal Government and Intelligence Community is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to serve as the technical anchor for a new feature/capability being added to an existing product platform.
The ideal candidate will be capable of architecting and designing new features while translating complex business requirements into robust, well-documented technical solutions. This role will work closely with members of an Integrated Feature Team (IFT) to ensure high-quality delivery throughout the full software development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Architectural Analysis & Design
- Analyze and deconstruct complex requirements to determine system impact
- Lead the creation of technical design documentation using Object-Oriented (OO) principles
- Ensure new features integrate seamlessly while minimizing technical debt
Technical Leadership
- Serve as the feature lead for new platform capabilities
- Guide features from initial concept through development, testing, and deployment
- Maintain ownership of feature completion and delivery standards
Cross-Team Coordination
- Act as the technical liaison with Systems Engineering teams
- Coordinate on technical approaches, dependencies, and implementation constraints
Team Leadership & Task Management
- Break down high-level feature designs into actionable development tasks
- Manage feature status reporting for leadership
- Mentor junior and mid-level software engineers
Quality Assurance
- Conduct merge request (MR) reviews to maintain coding standards, security compliance, and performance benchmarks
Required Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI Clearance with Polygraph
- Expert-level experience with Java (Java 17+ preferred) and Spring Boot
- Deep understanding of SOLID principles and Object-Oriented design patterns
- Strong knowledge of REST interface standards and API best practices
- Ability to communicate effectively and facilitate cross-team collaboration
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to clearly communicate architecture and design concepts
- Experience writing technical documentation including wiki content, blogs, XML, and HTML documentation

Pay: $200,000.00 - $215,000.00 per year
