Exciting opportunity to join our expanding team at AMG Chrome US LLC in New Castle. Due to expansion plans in a new production facility producing Chromium metal, we are looking to recruit an experienced Quality Inspector.
This position involves working closely with Quality, Technical and Laboratory to act as the on-site authority. Assist and provide flexible and efficient co-ordination of the US AMG Chrome Quality Systems. Carry out analysis using a range of testing techniques and equipment in order to produce analytical reports and certification of material.
Responsibilities
As the lead Quality and Technical representative on site:
· Assist with planning and execution of internal and external audits.
· Ensure document control by maintaining relevant registers and co-ordination with production teams.
· To identify, promote, and implement continual improvement opportunities in line with Company objectives.
· To assist operational and functional teams to understand, comply and improve system requirements.
· Ensuring all forms of NCR’s are resolved and recorded in a timely manner using quality tools such as 8D, 5 whys, Ishikawa.
· Coordinate, investigate, and maintain the tracker for customer complaints.
· Assist in writing / maintaining site departmental quality procedures.
· Improve and optimize products, processes, and performance within the business.
· Resolve technical/quality issues, leading cross functional teams where necessary.
· Continuously assess the operability of complex process plant and introduce improvements to reduce the probability of quality, process or procedural failure during operations.
· Define and track key metrics and performance indicators.
· Attending daily and weekly meetings.
· Carrying out daily and weekly QC checks across production.
As laboratory analyst:
· Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with ISO standards and Quality Procedures.
· Preparation of samples.
· To undertake all testing in a timely and accurate manner.
· Keep accurate and complete records of all testing performed to comply with company and regulatory requirements.
· Provide any data required on Quality or Health and Safety grounds to Management as required to assist with complaints or investigations.
· Ensure areas are clean and safe at the end of the shift.
· Ensure housekeeping is kept to the required standards at all times.
· Work in a manner that produces minimal waste.
Carry out tasks which are reasonable in relation to the skills, knowledge and experience of the employee
Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications
· Associates Degree in Chemistry, Metallurgy or Materials Engineering.
· At least 5 years experience in a leading Quality, Technical, Laboratory or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
· Knowledge of techniques used in a laboratory (e.g. acid digestion, gas fusion testing techniques, use of instrumentation)
· Ability to identify and apply the correct test for the desired outcome.
· Experience with quality methods such as RCCA, 8D, 5 Why, fish bone diagram.
· Good working knowledge of ISO 9001.
· Internal auditing experience.
· Ability to follow instructions and work to tight deadlines.
· Strong attention to detail and level of accuracy.
· Logical, lateral & analytical thinker.
· Ability to demonstrate use of initiative.
· Good team worker.
· Proficiency with computer systems (Microsoft Office, ERP systems).
· Excellent communication skills.
