Live Commerce Production Lead — OBS / Studio Buildout

Freedom Tools is hiring a skilled Live Commerce Production Lead to help us build and operate a professional livestream production studio for our high-volume Whatnot auction shows.

We are a fast-growing, profitable live commerce company based in Troy, Missouri. We currently run live auction shows 8-12 hours per day, and our shows are one of the main revenue engines of the business. Today, our shows are primarily run from phone cameras. We are ready to upgrade into a professional OBS-based production system.

This is not an entry-level tech helper role.

We are looking for someone with real livestream production skill who can help design, build, operate, improve, document, and eventually lead our live show production system.

What You Will Own

You will help Freedom Tools move from phone-camera shows to a professional OBS-based production studio.

You will build OBS scenes, sources, overlays, graphics, transitions, media assets, and show profiles.

You will recommend cameras, microphones, lighting, capture devices, monitors, cables, switchers, Stream Decks, computers, and related production equipment.

You will operate OBS and production systems during live Whatnot shows.

You will improve audio quality, video quality, lighting, product visibility, and host framing.

You will build production setups for daily shows, special events, product drops, charity nights, and storytelling segments.

You will create pre-show, live-show, and post-show checklists.

You will build backup plans for audio failure, camera failure, internet problems, OBS issues, and equipment problems.

You will document the production system so the company is not dependent on one person’s memory.

You will train backup users as the department grows.

You are technically skilled, calm under pressure, detail-oriented, reliable, and serious about building something excellent.

You do not need to be the face of the show. You need to make the face of the show better.

You should be comfortable in a fast-moving live environment where revenue, brand quality, and customer experience matter.

Required Skills

Strong candidates will have hands-on experience with several of the following:

• OBS Studio
• Livestream production
• Camera setup and video capture
• Microphone setup and audio troubleshooting
• Lighting for video
• Scene creation and scene switching
• Overlays, graphics, media sources, and transitions
• Stream Deck or similar control surfaces
• Multi-camera production
• Basic computer troubleshooting
• Internet/network reliability for livestreams
• File organization for media and production assets

Preferred Experience

Experience in any of these areas is valuable:

• Live ecommerce
• Whatnot, TikTok Live, YouTube Live, Twitch, or livestream selling
• Podcast or studio production
• Church livestream production
• Event production
• Sports livestreaming
• YouTube/video production
• Basic graphic design or Canva/Photoshop
• Basic video editing

What Success Looks Like

In the first 30 days, success means Freedom Tools has moved from phone-camera shows to a professional, repeatable OBS-based production system that looks better, sounds better, runs more reliably, supports new show hosts, improves special events, and reduces owner dependency.

Compensation

Freedom Tools is willing to pay very well for the right person.

Compensation range:

$75,000–$110,000 per year depending on experience

Contract-to-hire or hourly arrangements may also be considered for the right candidate.

We are looking for someone who can help build the production system our company will scale on.
