About ThinnkBotics
ThinnkBotics is a hands-on STEM academy in Prosper, Texas, where students build confidence through robotics, coding, Python, AI literacy, and project-based learning. We are now expanding into K-12 mathematics tutoring and enrichment, and we are looking for a Lead Math Teacher to help build and lead this new program from the ground up.
Our goal is to make math rigorous, clear, confidence-building, and connected to real-world problem solving. This role is ideal for an experienced educator who wants to shape a high-quality program, not simply deliver a scripted lesson.
Position Summary
The Lead Math Teacher will teach students, diagnose skill gaps, support curriculum development, and help create a strong Texas TEKS-aligned math program for ThinnkBotics. The initial focus will be grades 3-8, Algebra I readiness, and Algebra I support, with room to expand into Geometry, Algebra II, Precalculus, SAT/ACT math, and advanced problem-solving enrichment.
What You Will Do
· Lead small-group and one-on-one math instruction for students across the K-12 range, with an initial focus on grades 3-8 and Algebra I.
· Assess each student's current level, identify learning gaps, and create clear learning plans for improvement and acceleration.
· Deliver instruction aligned with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS), including STAAR support for grades 3-8 and Algebra I End-of-Course readiness.
· Support students who are working at grade level, below grade level, or above grade level, including accelerated learners preparing for advanced math pathways.
· Help select, organize, and refine curriculum materials, practice assignments, assessments, and parent progress reports.
· Track student progress and communicate clearly with parents about goals, growth, next steps, and recommended practice.
· Contribute ideas for connecting math with robotics, coding, AI, engineering, and real-world STEM applications.
· As the program grows, help train or guide additional math instructors to maintain consistent quality.
Required Qualifications
· Minimum 3 years of math teaching, tutoring, or instructional experience.
· Strong understanding of Texas math standards, including TEKS, STAAR expectations, and Algebra I EOC expectations.
· Ability to teach core math concepts clearly across multiple levels, especially upper elementary, middle school, and Algebra I.
· Proven ability to build student confidence, explain concepts in multiple ways, and adjust instruction based on student needs.
· Strong communication skills with students, parents, and the academy leadership team.
· Reliable availability for after-school, evening, or weekend teaching hours.
Preferred Qualifications
· Texas teaching certification in Mathematics 4-8, Mathematics 7-12, EC-6 with strong math experience, or a closely related certification.
· Experience teaching or tutoring in a small-group or one-on-one model.
· Experience with STAAR preparation, Algebra I EOC preparation, accelerated math, gifted students, or competition-style math.
· Experience creating lesson plans, scope and sequence documents, assessments, or math intervention plans.
· Comfort using technology, digital learning tools, and project-based teaching methods.
· Teaching experience in Prosper ISD, Frisco ISD, McKinney ISD, Celina ISD, or another North Texas district is a strong plus.
What We Offer
· Competitive hourly compensation, based on experience and role scope.
· Flexible part-time scheduling that can fit around a current teaching role or other professional responsibilities.
· The opportunity to build and lead a brand-new math program with real ownership.
· A modern, well-equipped learning space in Prosper, Texas.
· A collaborative, mission-driven environment focused on student confidence, mastery, and long-term growth.
· Potential to grow into a broader curriculum leadership or program director role as enrollment increases.
