Confluence is a growing landscape architecture, planning, and urban design firm with an office in Kansas City's Historic River Market. Our firm has nine offices throughout the Midwest, with approximately 75 professional staff collaborating with private and public-sector clients, architects, engineers, and communities to create places full of life.
Our marketing team is based in Kansas City and supports all office locations, including Des Moines, Denver, Cedar Rapids, Omaha, Sioux Falls, Minneapolis, Fargo, and Chicago.
We are seeking a highly organized, creative, and detail-oriented Marketing Coordinator to join our collaborative marketing team. This position will play a key role in supporting the firm's marketing efforts through proposal coordination, content development, database management, and marketing communications.
As part of a small team, each marketing team member has primary areas of responsibility while also supporting one another across all marketing functions. The ideal candidate enjoys balancing creative and technical tasks, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is eager to learn and grow within the AEC industry.
What You'll Do
Proposal & Business Development Support
- Coordinate and develop proposals, statements of qualifications (SOQs), interview presentations, and other business development materials.
- Collaborate with firm leadership, technical staff, and marketing team members to gather content, resumes, project information, and graphics.
- Manage proposal schedules and ensure deadlines are met.
- Maintain and update proposal resources, project information, resumes, and boilerplate content.
Marketing & Communications
- Assist with creating marketing collateral, presentations, award submissions, and other materials.
- Create visually compelling layouts and graphics using Adobe Creative Suite.
- Support social media creation and scheduling.
- Assist with website updates and content management.
- Help coordinate photography, project documentation, and storytelling efforts across the firm.
- Ensure consistency with Confluence's brand standards and messaging.
Marketing Systems & Data Management
- Assist with management and maintenance of the firm's CRM and Digital Asset Management (DAM) systems.
- Support ongoing data quality, organization, and reporting efforts.
- Help maintain project, employee, and client information within marketing databases.
- Assist with implementation and optimization of marketing technologies, workflows, and AI-powered tools.

Minimum Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, Journalism, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Experience creating professional documents with strong attention to formatting and visual presentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry.
- Experience supporting proposal development and business development efforts.
- Familiarity with CRM platforms such as TrebleHook, Salesforce, or similar systems.
- Familiarity with Digital Asset Management (DAM) platforms such as OpenAsset.
- Experience with website content management systems and email marketing platforms.
- Basic video production, including ideation, storyboarding, filming, editing, and delivery is a plus.
