As we continue to expand, we are seeking a National Logistics Manager to help optimize our transportation network and support our growing operations.
The Role
The National Logistics Manager is responsible for leading transportation and logistics operations across our U.S. distribution centers. This role oversees carrier relationships, routing strategies, Transportation Management System (TMS) administration, company fleet standards, freight cost control, and logistics process improvement.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can balance strategic planning with day-to-day execution while driving service improvements, operational consistency, and cost efficiencies across the network. This role offers a competitive base salary in the $90,000 to $100,000 range. Determined salary will be based on experience and location. This position is 100% in office.
Key Responsibilities
Transportation & Carrier Management
- Manage national LTL carrier relationships and performance.
- Monitor service levels, transit times, claims, and freight costs.
- Identify opportunities for routing improvements, consolidation, and cost savings.
- Support carrier negotiations, rate reviews, and transportation initiatives.
Network & Route Optimization
- Review and improve outbound delivery and stock transfer routes.
- Develop transportation strategies that improve efficiency and customer service.
- Partner with distribution center leaders to identify operational improvements.
- Standardize logistics processes across multiple locations.
Transportation Management System (TMS)
- Own and maintain the company's TMS platform.
- Ensure carrier data, rates, routing guides, and workflows remain accurate.
- Improve system utilization, reporting, and process compliance.
- Train and support internal users.
Inventory & Stock Transfer Support
- Partner with Supply Chain and Operations teams to improve inventory flow.
- Support stock transfer planning, freight consolidation, and replenishment strategies.
- Recommend transportation solutions that improve inventory availability and reduce costs.
Fleet & Driver Oversight
- Establish consistent fleet and driver standards across the organization.
- Support DOT compliance, safety initiatives, and fleet performance management.
- Partner with local management teams to improve route execution and service quality.
- Develop expectations for driver professionalism, communication, and customer service.
Freight Cost Management
- Review and approve freight invoices.
- Identify billing discrepancies and resolve carrier disputes.
- Improve freight spend visibility through reporting and analysis.
- Support transportation budgeting and cost-control initiatives.
- Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Develop and maintain transportation performance metrics.
- Analyze freight spend, route efficiency, carrier performance, and fleet utilization.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives and create standardized operating procedures.
- Present recommendations and results to company leadership.
Qualifications
Required
- 5+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain, or distribution management.
- Experience managing LTL carrier relationships in a multi-site environment.
- Strong knowledge of transportation operations, routing, freight costs, and distribution center processes.
- Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to travel domestically as needed.
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field.
- Experience managing company-owned fleets or driver teams.
- Familiarity with DOT and FMCSA regulations.
- Experience with transportation pricing, carrier negotiations, and freight analytics.
- Advanced Excel and reporting skills.
