Position Overview
Saginaw Power & Automation is seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to support industrial electrical, automation, power systems, and commissioning projects throughout the United States.
This position is intended for a self-motivated technician who is comfortable working independently in the field, troubleshooting industrial systems, supporting equipment commissioning, and working directly with customers to successfully execute projects.
The ideal candidate will have 4-10 years of industrial electrical experience and possess strong technical, communication, and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble, wire, test, and troubleshoot industrial control panels and electrical equipment.
- Install, commission, and support electrical and automation systems at customer facilities.
- Perform field troubleshooting of industrial electrical, control, and power systems.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and construction drawings.
- Assist with startup and commissioning activities for industrial facilities and equipment.
- Assemble and wire control panels in accordance with UL508A requirements.
- Assemble, test, maintain, and troubleshoot relay panels, switchgear, and power system equipment.
- Support low- and medium-voltage equipment testing, maintenance, and upgrades.
- Coordinate with engineers, designers, project managers, and customers to successfully complete projects.
- Prepare field reports, test documentation, and project records.
- Identify opportunities to improve project execution, quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Mentor and support junior technicians when appropriate.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Electrical Construction Technology, Electrical Technology, Instrumentation, Automation, or related field; equivalent experience will be considered.
- 4-10 years of industrial electrical, controls, instrumentation, or power systems experience.
- Experience reading electrical drawings and schematics.
- Experience installing, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning industrial electrical equipment.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with industrial controls, PLC systems, and instrumentation.
- Experience commissioning industrial electrical systems.
- Experience with power distribution equipment, switchgear, motor controls, or protective relays.
- Experience working in industrial facilities such as:
- Oil & Gas
- Energy & Utilities
- Mining
- Manufacturing
- Municipal Infrastructure
- OSHA training or other relevant safety certifications.
- Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent industrial electrical experience.

Location
This position is based out of Saginaw, Minnesota and includes periodic travel (typically 20-30%) to customer sites throughout the United States.
Pay: $25.00 - $45.00 per hour
