Sr. Building Engineer – Boston Seaport (Class A Office Critical Systems)
CBRE is seeking 2 highly skilled Sr. Building Engineers to support operations at a premier 900,000-square-foot Class A officeproperty in Boston’s dynamic Seaport district. This role is ideal for ahands-on professional with deep experience maintaining critical buildingsystems in a high-performance, tenant-focused environment.
As a key member of the engineering team, you will play avital role in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and continuous operationof essential infrastructure , including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and lifesafety systems. The successful candidate brings a strong background in mission-criticalor complex commercial facilities , with a commitment to operationalexcellence, proactive maintenance, and delivering best-in-class service totenants and stakeholders.

What You’ll Do:
- Assign work orders and estimatethe time and materials needed to complete repairs. Maintain an inventory of adequate suppliesand tools.
- Perform maintenance and repairsto advanced HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, lifesafety, and control systems. Keep facility and building systems up toapplicable standards as assigned.
- Comply with all applicablecodes, regulations, governmental agency, and company directives related tobuilding operations and work safety.
- Develop an energy managementprogram. Ensure all systems operate in the most efficient manner.
- Oversee and inspect the workperformed by outside contractors. Respond to common inquiries or complaintsfrom clients, co-workers, and/or supervisors.
- Direct the implementation of apreventive maintenance program to ensure that building machinery and systemsmeet or exceed their rated life. Performrepairs and emergency maintenance as needed.
- Review and sign off oninspections of building systems including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing toensure the operation of equipment is within design capabilities and achievesenvironmental conditions prescribed by the client.
- Apply advanced knowledge toseek and develop new, better methods for accomplishing both individual anddepartment objectives. • Showcaseexpertise in own job discipline and in-depth knowledge of other job disciplineswithin the organization function.
- Coach others to developin-depth knowledge and expertise in most or all areas within the function.
- Lead by example and modelbehaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Anticipates potentialobjections and persuades others, often at senior levels and of divergentinterest, to adopt a different point of view. • Impact the achievement ofcustomer, operational, project, or service objectives across multi-disciplineteams. What You’ll Need :
- High School Diploma, GED, ortrade school diploma with 5-8 years of job-related experience. In lieu of adiploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Priorshift manager or supervisory experience preferred.
- Universal CFC certification andBoiler License required
- Additional certification in oneor more of the following: HVAC, electrical, mechanical, HVAC and refrigerationsystems, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, painting, plumbing,carpentry or engine repair.
- Meet the physical requirementsof this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders,and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
- The innovative mentality todevelop methods that go beyond existing solutions.
- Ability to solve uniqueproblems using standard and innovative solutions having a broad impact on thebusiness.
- In-depth knowledge of MicrosoftOffice products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
- Expert organizational skillswith an advanced inquisitive mindset. • Highlysophisticated math skills. Ability to calculate somewhat complex figures suchas percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, includinga candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the positionis or $48.00 per hour and the maximum salary for the position is $58.00 per hour. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidatewill depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE’s applicable benefit program
