Zajac LLC is looking for a skilled Packaging Project Manager to join our team. Our project managers interact directly with our clients and are responsible for all aspects of a project from design through installation & support. The Packaging Project Manager leads, oversees, and coordinates the installation, integration, and startup of packaging and conveyor systems. This role ensures equipment installation, field execution, commissioning activities, and related resources meet quality standards, project schedules, and budget requirements.
Overview and Responsibilities
1. Packaging and Conveyor Installation Management:
- Collaborates with customers and internal teams to define packaging and conveyor installation requirements, site conditions, and execution plans.
- Coordinates internal mechanical, electrical, controls, and field service resources to support installation scope development and execution.
- Works with equipment suppliers, contractors, and vendors to support installation planning, delivery coordination, and field readiness.
- Creates preliminary packaging and conveyor system layouts to review with suppliers for final design.
- Oversees field installation, equipment integration, and startup support for packaging lines and conveyor systems.
2. Project Planning and Execution:
o Develops installation plans, project schedules, manpower requirements, and execution milestones for packaging and conveyor system projects.
o Coordinates with procurement, electrical, mechanical, controls, and subcontracted resources to execute installations efficiently and safely.
o Works directly with onsite teams and customers to support equipment installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and production startup.
3. Cost Management:
- Creates and manages budgets for proposed projects.
- Monitors project budgets, tracks expenses, and optimizes costs.
- Balances quality and cost-effectiveness.
4. Risk Management:
- Identifies potential risks and develops mitigation strategies.
5. Collaboration with Stakeholders:
- Communicates project progress and department status to senior management and other key stakeholders.
- Addresses feedback and adjust project plans as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, project management, or a related technical field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in packaging equipment, conveyor systems, industrial installation, or related project execution roles.
- Strong knowledge of packaging equipment, conveyor systems, installation practices, and equipment integration.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, scheduling tools, and other software used for project coordination, installation planning, and reporting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of applicable safety standards, installation best practices, and relevant industry regulations.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
