Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to join our innovative engineering team. This role involves designing, developing, and testing electrical systems and components for advanced technology projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in system design, PCB layout, FPGA development, and signal processing, with a solid foundation in electrical and mechanical engineering principles. Experience with CAD tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and SolidWorks, along with proficiency in programming languages like Python, C++, MATLAB, and scripting, is essential. The position offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects involving quantum engineering, firmware development, and manufacturing processes. Candidates should be detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to perform root cause analysis efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop complex electrical systems and circuitry for various projects
- Create detailed schematics and PCB layouts using CAD tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, and MicroStation
- Develop FPGA designs utilizing SystemVerilog and Simulink for high-performance applications
- Implement system design modifications based on testing results and root cause analysis
- Conduct signal processing and firmware development using languages like C++, Python, Perl, and MATLAB
- Perform debugging of hardware and firmware issues; utilize tools such as ohmmeters and vision inspection systems
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers to integrate electrical components into mechanical assemblies using surface mount technology (SMT) and soldering techniques
- Manage project scheduling to ensure timely delivery of engineering milestones
- Support manufacturing processes by developing specifications for programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and electrical systems compliance per NEC standards
- Assist in system validation through testing and troubleshooting of prototypes
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with a focus on electrical systems
- Proven experience with FPGA development, PCB design, system design, and schematic creation
- Hands-on experience with surface mount technology (SMT), soldering, and firmware development
- Familiarity with CAD software including AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, SolidWorks; experience with Revit is a plus
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, MATLAB, Perl; scripting experience is desirable
- Knowledge of quantum engineering concepts is a plus but not mandatory
- Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), ARM microcontrollers, Arduino platforms, or similar embedded systems
- Strong analytical skills including root cause analysis for hardware/software issues
- Mechanical knowledge related to integrating electrical components into mechanical assemblies is advantageous
- Ability to perform debugging using tools like ohmmeters and vision inspection systems; familiarity with surface mount technology (SMT) assembly techniques
