Position Overview:

We are seeking a committed Material Handler/Warehouse Crane Operator for our Peotone, IL branch who will stage, load, and unload material among other duties in a safe and efficient manner and represent Brown Strauss with a positive attitude. This is a day shift position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operates overhead cranes in a safe and efficient manner and applies understanding of equipment so as to not overload the cranes.
• Inspects equipment, including overhead cranes and saws and completes inspection reports.
• Reads and understands paperwork so that orders are processed correctly.
• Uses tape measure and micrometer.
• Records all information correctly on paperwork to include material heat #, Location and any changes with original orders.
• Uses banding equipment to band product.
• Applies understanding of color codes to mark all material into a correct manner.
• Applies understanding of where and how materials are located in the warehouse and restocks materials in the correct location as it arrives.
• Keeps warehouse clean to ensure walking areas are clear and free of debris. To make sure all stacks are square and blocked correctly to prevent injury.
• Must be keenly aware of safety and watch for safety of others.
• Performs other duties as required.
