POSITION SUMMARY
Coordinates the purchasing of direct production materials and MRO supplies as required. Negotiates and procures an assigned group of materials, components, equipment, services and supplies from vendors at the lowest cost consistent with considerations of quality, reliability of source and urgency of need. Processes orders and does follows-up to expedite delivery and shipment. Develops and maintains necessary records and files for efficient operation of the purchasing function.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Requisitions material and establishes sequential delivery dates to departments according to job order priorities and material availability.
· Build and maintain positive trust relationships with key suppliers and vendors.
· Ensure materials are ordered in a timely and appropriate manner to meet production needs.
· Ensure MRO purchases are made in a timely and appropriate manner to meet all business needs.
· Make, revise, cancel or change purchase orders. Improve terms and obtain bids where necessary, including expediting or addressing past due purchase items.
· Works with designated team members across two divisions to ensure materials are available and will assist in resolving inventory control issues.
· Review and keep a good record of purchasing files and records to verify that they comply with business policies and procedures. Ensure documentation is readily available.
· Responsible for resolving invoice discrepancies in connection with the Accounting Department.
· Perform all work in a safety conscious manner. Be aware of dangers and take all appropriate counter measures to protect yourself and others around you.
· Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work area consistently with the Company’s housekeeping policies.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
An associates degree preferred or equivalent training with 2 years or more of relevant purchasing or buying experience (procurement procedure knowledge in the manufacturing arena). Requires exercise of sound judgment, critical thinking/analysis and ingenuity.
Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
