Shift: 1st Shift (6:00 AM - 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Requires flexibility for occasional overtime based on production needs.)

Job Description

We are seeking a Factory Automation Engineer to support industrial control systems and automation processes at our manufacturing facility in Grovetown, GA. This role focuses on basic controls engineering assignments—including electrical design, PLC programming, and system integration. You will maintain production systems, connect shop floor equipment to local databases, and respond to critical production-down situations.

Job Responsibilities

• Design and update electrical control systems, schematic prints, and programs for production machinery, shop floor tooling, and human-machine interfaces (HMI).
• Create and maintain software communication interfaces linking plant floor equipment with PLC controls, SCADA, and MES networks.
• Execute professional controls engineering tasks and coordinate technical details with cross-functional support teams, technicians, and outside contractors.
• Provide troubleshooting support and respond immediately to critical production-down instances to restore manufacturing lines.
• Manage the network integration, physical installation, and data connectivity of shop floor machines into the site's MES (SAP-MES / AMES) and programmable controllers.

What Skills You Need

• Solid educational or professional background in Engineering (Electrical, Controls, Mechatronics, or Computer Engineering).
• Hands-on proficiency with PLC programming, computer programming, and Structured Query Language (SQL).
• Working knowledge of electrical circuit designs, industrial electrical codes, and standard engineering tooling.
• Familiarity with MES/SCADA solutions (such as SAP-MES, AMES, JDAAT, or Ignition), process control scheduling, and device connectivity.
• Practical project management experience with the ability to balance multiple concurrent workloads.

What Makes You Stand Out (Preferred)

• Mechatronics engineering degree background.
• 3 or more years of experience in electrical circuit design, PLC troubleshooting, and database logging tools.

Required Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline; OR 3+ years of equivalent related professional automation work
