Job Description

The Clinical Manager is responsible for the overall clinical health, quality, integrity, and operational effectiveness of the assigned center. This role maintains a reduced caseload while providing clinical leadership and oversight. This role works with the site BCBAs and BCaBAs to ensure the timely development, implementation, and monitoring of Individual Treatment Plans (ITPs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs). The Clinical Manager supervises, trains, and evaluates assigned BCBA’s, BCaBAs, Program Coordinator(s), and Registered Behavior Technicians, ensuring compliance with clinical standards, regulatory requirements, and Conduct Curb policies, while promoting high-quality, ethical, and data-driven service delivery.

Essential Functions

Leadership Functions

• Provide direct clinical leadership, oversight, and accountability for the quality, integrity, and effectiveness of services delivered at the assigned clinic site.
• Supervise and support assigned Program Coordinator(s), Behavior Analysts, and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) to ensure adherence to treatment plans, clinical standards, and organizational expectations.
• Maintain active BCBA or BCBA-D certification in good standing and perform all duties in accordance with applicable Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) ethical standards, certification requirements, and scope of practice guidelines.
• Ensure all site clinical services are delivered in accordance with evidence-based practices, payer requirements, applicable regulations, and Conduct Curb policies and procedures.
• Provide ongoing clinical direction, training, and mentorship to clinical and direct care staff in the implementation of behavior intervention plans, skill acquisition programming, behavior reduction procedures, and data collection systems.
• Oversee the development, implementation, review, and clinical integrity of Individual Treatment Plans (ITPs), Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), treatment goals, and supporting clinical documentation for assigned clients.
• Conduct and or oversee behavioral assessments of all new clients to the assigned site.
• Assign new client cases to BCBAs and BCaBAs.
• Work with site licensed behavior analysts to ensure the provision of weekly or bi-weekly 1:1 clinical supervision to RBTs at his/her assigned site.
• Ensure maintenance of the RBT supervision log for all RBTs at the assigned site.
• Coordinate with HR to initiate and execute disciplinary procedures related to clinical issues and infractions.
• Conduct weekly group supervision meetings for site RBTs.
• Participate in and contribute to monthly company leadership meetings and weekly clinical leadership meetings.
• Lead and/or participate in insurance peer reviews, utilization reviews, clinical audits, and other payer or regulatory review processes, as assigned.
• Collaborate with the OM, Clinical Ops Director, and other designated leadership to address staffing needs, site operations, scheduling concerns, workflow barriers, and service delivery challenges impacting clinical care.
• Support a culture of accountability, professionalism, ethical practice, and continuous quality improvement across the assigned clinic site.
• Reinforce compliance with organizational policies, clinical procedures, documentation expectations, and employee handbook standards; communicate concerns through appropriate leadership channels when necessary.
• Participate in clinical case reviews, trainings, and organizational development activities as assigned.
• Perform other clinical, supervisory, operational, and administrative duties as assigned to support the needs of the organization and assigned clinic site.
• Provide supervision, training, and professional development to assigned Program Coordinator(s) seeking BCBA and/or BCaBA certification.
• Ensure all Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) supervision activities are implemented, documented, and maintained in accordance with requirements established by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB), applicable State Medicaid payer guidelines, and Conduct Curb policies and procedures, ensuring audit readiness, regulatory compliance, and adherence to established supervision frequency and documentation standards.
• Ensure BCBAs, BCaBAs, and remote clinical supervisors assigned to the site submit required weekly billable hours, supervision documentation, and related clinical responsibilities in a timely manner.
• Participate in and/or conduct interviews for site-based candidates and assigned clinical support staff to support staffing needs, workforce development, and continuity of clinical operations at the assigned clinic site.
• Implement employee coaching, performance evaluations, corrective action, and disciplinary procedures, as appropriate, in accordance with company policy, established supervisory authority, applicable employment practices, and documentation standards.
• Collaborate with the Operations Manager and Clinical Leadership to proactively address site-specific clinical and operational needs, ensuring alignment with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and quality of care standards.

Clinical Functions

• Conduct and/or oversee behavioral assessments, functional behavior assessments, skill-based assessments, and functional analyses, as clinically indicated and within professional scope of practice.
• Analyze client data and treatment outcomes to inform clinical decision-making, evaluate progress, identify barriers to treatment, and ensure services remain medically necessary and clinically appropriate.
• Maintain a clinical caseload and provide direct behavior analytic services, parent training, supervision, and treatment planning in accordance with assigned productivity and service expectations.
• Ensure timely completion, accuracy, and compliance of all required clinical documentation, including case notes, treatment updates, supervision records, assessment reports, and authorization-related materials.
• Collaborate with the Clinical Director and other designated leadership to ensure timely submission of treatment plans, authorizations, reauthorizations, and payer-required documentation.
• Assist with and/or conduct new client intakes, screenings, clinical evaluations, and admission-related assessments for the assigned clinic site.
• Provide parent and caregiver training, consultation, and support to promote treatment generalization, family engagement, and continuity of care across settings.
• Respond to and provide clinical guidance during crisis situations, client escalations, safety concerns, and other urgent case-related issues to support risk mitigation and service continuity.
• Monitor treatment implementation and staff performance to ensure clinical recommendations are carried out with fidelity, consistency, and adherence to approved programming.
• Promote and protect client rights, dignity, confidentiality, welfare, and safety in all aspects of service delivery and staff supervision.

Physical Demands

The Clinical Manager may be required to stand for extended periods of time, lift heavy objects on a regular basis, climb stairs, and/or do repetitive tasks with few breaks. The Clinical Manager may also be required to use various methods of safe physical management techniques to ensure the safety of Conduct Curb clients and staff.

Travel Required

Routine travel is not required; however, limited travel may be necessary for family home visits, school IEP meetings, off-site treatment team meetings, etc. Travel may also be necessary on an occasional basis for approved business needs, including training, stakeholder meetings, and operational support.

Required Education and Experience

• Credentialed Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or Board Certified Behavior Analyst-Doctoral Level (BCBA-D).
• Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Special Education, Mental Health, or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 3 (three) years of post-certification experience as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) providing behavior analytic services to individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and/or related developmental disabilities.
• 5+ years of clinical leadership and supervision experience.
• 5+ years of administrative leadership experience.
• Demonstrated experience in conducting clinical assessments, developing and overseeing treatment plans, supervising staff, analyzing behavioral data, and implementing evidence-based interventions.
• Experience providing clinical leadership, caregiver training, and staff development within a multidisciplinary or ABA service delivery setting strongly preferred.

Preferred Education and Experience

• Required experience above.
• Trained in safe physical management techniques.
• Minimum of 5 years of supervisory and/or managerial experience in an ABA or related clinical setting required, including oversight of clinical staff and service delivery.

Additional Eligibility Requirements

• Must successfully pass all required criminal history, child abuse/neglect, and other applicable background screenings in accordance with organizational policy, payer requirements, and state regulations.
• Must provide documentation of current tuberculosis (TB) screening/clearance and successfully complete all required pre-employment and/or ongoing drug screening requirements, as applicable.
• Must maintain reliable transportation and, when travel is required for approved business purposes, provide proof of a valid driver’s license, current automobile insurance, and compliance with organizational transportation requirements.
• Must be able to complete and maintain all required private insurance and Indiana Health Coverage Programs (IHCP) provider enrollment and/or rendering provider documentation, as applicable to the role.
• Must be eligible to provide services under applicable payer, credentialing, and regulatory requirements associated with the position.
