The opportunity
405 Hybrid Fitness is a new hybrid functional + strength facility launching in Edmond. We blend strength training, functional conditioning, and HYROX-style hybrid work into one membership and one community. Our class system is built on tiers — Stock, Tuned, and Built — so a first-timer and a competitive athlete can train in the same room and both walk out better.
We're not hiring a trainer to fill a slot. We're hiring the founding Head Coach — the person who builds the programming engine, sets the coaching standard, and becomes the face members trust on day one. You'll help design the space, write the system, hire and train the coaching staff, and then lead from the floor. If you've ever wanted to build a gym's training culture from the ground up instead of inheriting someone else's, this is that seat.
This is a foundational role with real ownership over the product. The right person grows with the business.
What you'll ownPhase 1 — Pre-opening (build the engine)
- Programming system: Design the full hybrid programming model across the Stock / Tuned / Built tiers — strength, conditioning, mobility, and HYROX-style hybrid work — with a clear weekly structure and progression logic that scales as we grow.
- Space & equipment: Partner with ownership on floor layout, equipment selection, and flow so the room actually supports the way we coach.
- Coaching standard: Define how a 405 Hybrid class is run — the warmup, the cues, the intensity standard, the member experience — and document it so it's repeatable.
- Build the team: Help recruit, audition, and train the initial 2–4 coaches against that standard.
- Onboarding: Design the new-member assessment and onramp so every member starts with a plan and a benchmark.
Phase 2 — Operating (lead from the floor)
- Coach the room: Personally lead the majority of weekly classes (target: 18–22 classes/week), bringing the energy and standard that sets the tone for the whole staff.
- Keep the program alive: Write and refresh weekly programming, keep the tiers honest, and adjust based on what's actually working on the floor.
- Own the member relationship: Be the go-to for member questions, form checks, scaling, and goal-setting. Retention lives here.
- Develop your coaches: Mentor, observe, and level up the coaching staff so the standard holds whether you're in the building or not.
- Drive results: Use assessments and benchmarks to show members measurable progress — the thing that keeps them paying.
What success looks like (first 6 months)
- A documented, repeatable programming system across all three tiers — not in your head, on paper.
- A coaching staff trained to a consistent standard that members can feel.
- Classes that fill and re-fill, with members hitting measurable benchmarks.
- Strong early retention — members who renew because they're seen, coached, and progressing.
You're a fit if you have
- 3+ years coaching group and/or 1:1 in a functional fitness, HYROX, CrossFit-style, strength, or hybrid setting.
- A current nationally recognized certification (NASM, ACE, ISSA, NSCA-CSCS, CF-L1/L2, or equivalent) and current CPR/AED.
- Real programming experience — you can write a progressive training block, not just run a workout someone else made.
- Coaching presence — you can scale a movement for a brand-new member and push a competitive athlete in the same hour, and people want to be in your class.
- Leadership instincts — you can set a standard, hold it, and bring other coaches up to it.
- A builder's mindset and comfort with the ambiguity of a pre-launch environment.
Bonus points for
- HYROX certification preferred but not required — we're actively working toward becoming a HYROX-certified facility, so a coach who's already certified (or ready to get certified with us) is a strong plus.
- HYROX competition or coaching experience, or hybrid/endurance-strength background.
- Nutrition coaching credential or experience.
- Experience opening or scaling a gym.
- Familiarity with class-management / membership software and basic member-retention systems.
Compensation & structure
(Finalize ranges before posting — placeholders below)

- Paid time off, free membership, continuing-education support.
