The Buyer will place purchase orders for new and existing production materials. May be assigned to purchase non-production items. They will identify and develop qualified suppliers which meet company standards.
You will make an impact in this role by:

Professionally place purchase orders to meet program and productions schedules, while maintaining good supplier relationships.

Control the cost of purchase materials within budget and generate cost reduction action plans.

Attain a level of product/commodity knowledge and develop a level of awareness of supplier operations as they pertain to the Company.

Professionally resolve problems (both internally and externally), in a fair and ethical manner.
-
Must have good interpersonal skills to interact effectively with all levels of the organization as well as outside contacts.

Travel will be required to various supplier locations.
-
Maintain and support company objectives for cost out, inventory turns, and supplier on-time delivery.

Provide vendor performance data for Quarterly Scorecard.

Knowledge of accounting software, internet software, inventory software, spreadsheet software and word processing software.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.

Requirements:
To be considered for the Buyer role, you must have the following minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree (B.A) from a four-year college or university
-
1-to-3-year related experience
-
Manufacturing experience is preferred
