Come and be part of a small but state-of-the-art, fast-growing contract manufacturing and assembly laser company! This engineer will work directly with the Senior R&D Laser Engineer in manufacturing processes in the facility. They will be the company’s on-site quality representative that works directly with the organization’s Quality Manager. They will work with the entire team to meet our customers’ high standards of quality, specificity, and on time delivery.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Engineering:
- General Laser Machine Programming: SolidWorks, CAD/CAM, CNC, G-Code
- Specific Software for Laser Machine Programming: Caglia, TruTops Mark, Aerotech, SCAPS / SAM Light
- Work with marking, cutting, and welding laser technologies.
- Recommend and implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
- Provide technical assistance and guidance to laser operators.
- Review engineering prints and implement Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
- Maintenance regarding tooling refurbishment, revisions, and improvements to ensure quality parts.
Quality:
- Manage a clearly defined quality management system that all staff can apply.
- Maintain process quality controls and support documentation to support all audits.
- Lead investigations for quality issues, implement Root Cause Analysis and drive corrective and preventive actions and report with Quality Manager.
- Encouraging all staff to incorporate a quality-related mindset into their work methods.
- Quality regarding part defects, audits, root cause analysis, and testing to ensure continuous improvement in the manufacturing process.
- Create and update work instructions as required.
- Coordinate with technical staff for carrying out inspections, testing and project activities.
General:
- Support Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) efforts related to plant equipment, processes, and employees, ensuring compliance with company policies and MNOSHA and OSHA requirements.
- Provide general support to all departments as required, including running production.
- All other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing and/or engineering field; 2+ years of experience required.
- Quality experience to develop and maintain in-house compliance with ISO 9001 & ISO 13485 standards and/or other regulatory organizations.
- Prepare and execute documentation control for internal and external quality audit periods.
- Able to manage multiple tasks or projects simultaneously.
- Excellent organizational, time management skills, and strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with diverse employees and customer groups.
NICE TO HAVE
- Working knowledge of 3D CAD Software
- Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems
- Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Engineering, and Supply Chain Management.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
