Alexandria Metal Finishers is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Process Engineer.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Process responsibility : maintenance and optimization of the anodizing and electroplating production lines (gold plating, silver plating, electroless nickel plating, tin plating, hardcoat anodizing, etc)
• Calculates surface areas, anodize cycle time, plating current densities & understands process specifications.
• Regulates current input & anodize time to obtain desired thickness.
• Follow work instructions to ensure accuracy of each project.
• This position will work closely with management, anodize/plating technicians, lab staff, and quality department to work on continuous improvement projects and troubleshoot process failures when needed.
• Acts as a resource in troubleshooting or problem solving plating issues.
• Assist in maintaining process controls and safety on the production line.
• May provide work direction & training to electroplater or anodizer.
• All other duties as apparent or as assigned in support of the operational needs and goals.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in an engineering or chemistry field (equivalent work experience may satisfy this requirement).
• 4+ years’ experience working in a electroplating/anodize finishing shop is preferred.
• Familiarity with Anodize Process (Type I,II,III Hardcoat) as well as gold, silver, tin, nickel electroplating etc.
• Experience in titrations and chemicals additions.
• EPA compliance experience
• OSHA compliance experience
• Employee training experience
• Familiarity with Nadcap and ISO 9001.
• Able to read and understand English and do basic shop math.
• Able to work on your feet for up to 8 hours a day in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

• Must be authorized to work in the United States
• 18 years of age or older

Compensation:

• Base starting salary will be $85,000+ (depending on experience)
