Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and talented Children's Book Illustrator to bring stories to life through captivating and imaginative artwork. In this role, you will collaborate closely with authors and publishers to create vibrant, engaging illustrations that resonate with young readers. Duties

• Develop original illustrations that complement and enhance the narrative of children's books, ensuring they are engaging, age-appropriate, and visually appealing
• Collaborate with authors, editors, and art directors to understand project requirements and artistic vision
• Create detailed sketches, storyboards, and concept art using digital design tools to plan visual storytelling sequences
• Use software such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe InDesign to produce high-quality artwork suitable for print and digital formats
• Incorporate principles of color theory, typography, and visual design to craft cohesive and attractive illustrations
• Adapt artwork styles as needed for different projects, maintaining consistency across the book series or themes
• Prepare final artwork files optimized for printing or digital publishing while adhering to technical specifications

Qualifications

• Proven experience in digital art, graphic design, or illustration, preferably within children’s media or publishing
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite applications including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, and SketchUp
• Strong understanding of color theory, layout design, typography, and visual storytelling techniques
• Knowledge of 2D animation, motion graphics, or 3D animation tools such as Maya or After Effects is a plus
• Familiarity with print advertising standards and production design processes for children’s books
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a creative team in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication skills to interpret feedback and refine artwork accordingly
