Clinical Counseling Intern (Paid Internship)

Position Overview
Sol Rising Counseling is seeking Master's-level Clinical Counseling Interns who are currently enrolled in an accredited counseling or marriage and family therapy program and are seeking internship or practicum placement hours.
This is a paid internship opportunity designed to provide meaningful clinical experience, individualized supervision, and professional development in an outpatient therapy setting.
Compensation
- $25 per completed client session
- Weekly supervision provided
- All clinical documentation reviewed and co-signed by a Board-Approved Supervisor
Intern Responsibilities
- Maintain a caseload of approximately 10 client sessions per week
- Conduct individual therapy sessions under supervision
- Complete clinical documentation within established timeframes
- Participate in weekly individual and/or group supervision
- Attend team meetings and training opportunities as scheduled
- Adhere to all ethical, legal, and professional standards

Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Master's program in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related behavioral health field
- Eligible to complete internship or practicum hours in Maryland
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Professionalism, reliability, and willingness to learn
- Commitment to providing culturally responsive and ethical care
Preferred Qualifications
- Interest in working with a board spectrum of clients of all ages
- Experience with electronic health records preferred but not required
- Availability for a minimum of 10 client sessions per week
About Your Supervisor
Sherina Shamsa, LCPC, is the Founder and Clinical Director of Sol Rising Counseling and a Maryland Board-Approved Supervisor with extensive experience in outpatient mental health, clinical leadership, supervision, and program development. Interns receive direct mentorship focused on developing clinical confidence, ethical practice, and long-term professional success.
