Engineer/Motor Shop Supervisor
Everson Tesla is searching for an electrical engineer/Motor shop supervisor to work as a member of our engineering team to focus on the design and manufacture of high voltage coils and rotating electric machines for specific customers and contracts. The engineer will interface on other programs as required.
This individual will work as a member of our engineering team to perform the following functions:
- Direct production activities to ensure products are manufactured in accordance with engineering specifications, contractual requirements, schedule, budget, and quality objectives.
- Investigate and resolve manufacturing and testing issues to reduce downtime, improve efficiency, and maintain product quality and performance.
- Develop manufacturing instructions while maintaining all customer requirements and compliances.
- Assist in the design and development of the required tooling to manufacture the product.
- Develop the quotation proposal for the customer which details material, labor, and tooling pricing required to manufacture the product.
- Support manufacturing and testing operations by working closely with other engineers, supervisors and assembly technicians to manufacture and test the product.
- Communicate with the customer directly to establish product specifications, resolve non-conformance concerns, communicate project progress, and support the development of new business opportunities.
- Participate in the training and development of motor shop technicians in order to enhance their overall job knowledge and skills.
- Supervise and direct the daily activities of the motor shop technicians, including scheduling work hours, monitoring production efficiency, ensuring quality requirements, and maintaining safe work practices.
- Meet or exceed established profitability targets.
Qualifications and Requirement:
- BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- One to two years of experience in a manufacturing environment required
- Experience and/or course work in designing, evaluating, building components used in motors, stators, rotors and other rotating equipment desired, but not required.
- Experience and/or course work in electromagnetics a plus.
- Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Power Point.
- Experience with 3-D modeling software, Solid Works is preferred.
- Ability to work constructively in a team environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with management and manufacturing technicians.
- Demonstrate excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work with electrical test equipment and mechanical tools.
- Willing to do some travel for product support and to support sales team on customer visits as required.
- Because we manufacture products which are installed in DOD equipment, all candidates must be a United States citizen.
Reporting Relationships:
The Electrical Engineer reports to the VP of Operations
