The Team: APC is a leading database marketer for Vehicle Service Contracts in the Auto Industry for the last 25 years. We partner with Administrators, OEMs, Auto Finance Companies, affinity organizations, and Dealers to create turn-key revenue producing programs. We direct market and sell VSCs and ancillary products to our clients customers. APC shares in the revenue of each sale, thus creating a no-cost solution for our clients.
Principal Purpose of Position: The primary role of the SQL Developer is to build functional applications and databases.
Job Responsibilities:
- Database Design and Development: Design, develop, and implement SQL Server databases based on business requirements with direction from Senior or Project Manager
- Query Optimization: Write and optimize complex SQL queries to enhance database performance and efficiency
- Data Integration: Develop and maintain ETL processes for data integration between various sources and the SQL Server database
- Troubleshooting and Debugging: Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve database-related issues, including performance tuning and debugging
- Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for database designs, queries, and procedures
- Maintaining Regular Data Builds: Executing and organizing daily data builds based on tickets from end users
- Collaboration: Work closely with other developers, analysts, and stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver effective solutions
- Reporting: Develop and maintain PowerBI or equivalent reports to provide actionable insights to stakeholders
- Data Analysis: Analyze data to provide insights and support decision-making processes within the organization
- Version Control: Manage and maintain version control of database scripts and objects
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of industry experience in SQL development and a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field OR 3–5 years industry experience
- Technical Proficiency: Strong proficiency in SQL Server, including experience with SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)
- Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
