A nationally recognized General Contractor is seeking an experienced Preconstruction Director to lead and grow a high-performing preconstruction team delivering some of the most complex and high-profile projects across Florida and the Southeast.

The successful candidate will take ownership of the entire preconstruction function, lead a team of estimators and preconstruction professionals, and play a key role in winning and shaping major projects before they reach the field.

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead all preconstruction and estimating activities from pursuit through GMP development.
• Manage, mentor and develop a team of estimators, preconstruction managers and support staff.
• Partner with executive leadership on business development, strategy and market growth.
• Oversee conceptual estimating, budgeting, value engineering and cost planning.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, architects, engineers and trade partners.
• Drive pursuit strategy, interview preparation and proposal development.
• Review and approve estimates, bid packages and procurement strategies.
• Collaborate closely with operations teams to ensure seamless project handover.
• Identify market trends, risks and opportunities to strengthen competitive positioning.
• Champion best practices, process improvement and operational excellence throughout the department.

Ideal Background

We are interested in speaking with experienced Preconstruction Directors, Chief Estimators, Senior Preconstruction Managers and Estimating Leaders who have:

• 10+ years of commercial construction estimating and preconstruction experience.
• Proven experience leading and developing estimating or preconstruction teams.
• Strong knowledge of conceptual estimating, budgeting, GMP development and value engineering.
• Experience delivering projects within one or more of the following sectors:
• Healthcare
• Aviation / Airport
• Municipal / Civic
• Education (K-12 or Higher Education)
• Federal
• Sports & Entertainment
• Large Commercial Construction
• Strong client-facing skills and the ability to influence project strategy from pursuit through award.
• A track record of helping secure major projects and grow market presence.
