We’re hiring a Senior Software Engineer to help advance the engineering excellent of our data and analytics capabilities. This is a high-impact role where you’ll be a key early member of our growing Data/Analytics team, partnering closely with our Data Engineering Manager to shape how we deliver trusted, decision-ready data across the company. You’ll play a critical role in how we build backend systems and service to collect, integrate, and transform data across systems at scale.

What You’ll Do:

• Design and build backend systems and services using Python and Azure serverless and data technologies following well-established design patterns and engineering practices
• Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code and participate in code reviews
• Debug and resolve issues across the stack
• Lead backend development of microservices in Azure and AWS with a domain-driven approach to design and data modeling, ensuring scalable and maintainable systems
• Drive improvements to infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, system observability, and automated testing to support fast and safe delivery
• Promote high standards in engineering quality, operational excellence, and collaboration

What You Bring:

• 5+ years of recent and relevant experience designing, building, and scaling cloud-native software and services
• Fluency in developing backend microservices using Python in Azure or AWS, serverless architectures (e.g., Azure Functions or Lambda), containers, and NoSQL databases like MongoDB, and SQL databases
• Deep expertise in infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform) and experience improving CI/CD, observability, and automated testing
• Solid understanding of software design patterns, testing practices, and system architecture
• Clear communication, thoughtful collaboration, and a mindset of ownership and impact
• Experience with or openness to AI-augmented tooling for software development. We leverage several AI systems to support and elevate our engineers and encourage exploration within this space to enhance our team’s output.
• A bias for action, striving for rapid delivery with a with a pragmatic mindset and love of experimentation.

GovDocs serves companies in building and executing their employment law compliance programs in two primary ways:

• Employment Law Posting Update Program: We manage all the complexities of identifying and providing the required set of employment law postings from the 1,700+ potential postings across the U.S. and Canada. Using proprietary technology, we allow companies to manage, track and verify postings at each of their locations – including our patent pending PosterCheck technology. Our Employment Law Posting Update service is used by almost 22% of the Fortune 500 and 30% of the Fortune 100.
• Employment Law Compliance Software Solutions: This is a first to market Software-as-a-Service starting with our Minimum Wage product and Paid Leave products, which allow companies to identify and track which laws apply to their locations and employees, then provides all relevant data to make decisions. This service was created in response to requests from some of our largest customers who recognized that employment law expansion across and variances between jurisdictions (Federal, State and Local) were too difficult to manually track.

GovDocs has grown revenue annually by 18% since 2008 with a 96% customer retention rate, primarily due to our Postings Update Program both obtaining and retaining customers – as employment law postings are required by law, every company has an existing provider. Our Software Solutions are an entirely new line of business that gives us great growth potential to create a full Employment Law Compliance (ELC) platform of solutions, it is also challenging us to reinvent how we view urgency, innovation and teamwork. Compensation:

This position is critical to the success of our business and the compensation package will be commensurate with candidate's experience and skills. This role will include a base salary and performance-based incentives. Base salary range: $150,000 – $170,000
