Overview
Wilder Systems is seeking an experienced engineer to join the emerging leader in aerospace automation. We are a startup with the development branch in Austin TX and operations in OKC OK. We are pioneering robotics in designing, developing, and deploying robotic systems that manufacture and maintain aircraft.
Working in a growing and fast-moving team, you will translate customer requirements into deployed robotic systems, collaborate across interdisciplinary engineering teams, develop and execute test protocols, deliver specifications, provide on‑site customer training, and iterate on product performance based on field feedback. Responsibilities
- Drive product delivery to customers, including defining specifications, ensuring product performance, leading on‑site training, and iterating on field feedback against project objectives and timelines.
- Develop and execute test protocols and documentation to industry standard requirements.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, electrical, controls, and software engineering teams to translate customer requirements into deployable robotic systems.
- Own customer-facing technical communication throughout the project lifecycle, from kickoff through deployment, training, and post-deployment support.
- Lead commissioning activities, including Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), at Wilder and customer facilities.
- Contribute to product roadmap and continuous improvement by translating field learnings, customer feedback, and performance data into actionable engineering work.
- Create and maintain project objectives, requirements documents, and timelines, and drive execution against them.
Qualifications / Skills
- Experience working with interdisciplinary teams and systems.
- Strong understanding of sensors and motion systems (encoders, laser range finders, camera optics, load cells, etc.).
- Track record of product delivery to customers, including specification requirements, training, and feedback iteration.
- Hands‑on experience developing and executing test protocols and documenting results to industry standard requirements.
- Experience with object‑oriented programming.
- Experience with CAD, GD&T, reading engineering drawings, and metrology concepts.
- Ability to create and execute objectives, requirements, and timelines for projects.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with robotic systems, especially Fanuc and Universal Robots systems.
- Understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes (drilling, riveting, routing, welding, sanding, plasma spray, etc.).
- Master’s degree in computer science, robotics, mechanical engineering, or aerospace engineering.
General Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering field
- Experience in project planning and execution.
- Strong communication, organizational, time management, leadership, and decision-making skills
- Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings and have a solid understanding of basic electrical and mechanical control systems.
- Works well in high pressure situations, during tight deadlines, and with customers
- Able to provide proof of US Citizenship or Permanent Residency
- Able to travel occasionally
