Overview
We are seeking a Junior Mechanical Engineer with proven experience in industrial refrigeration systems. The ideal candidate must have EPA certification, knowledge of OSHA standards, and some experience in automation and system analysis.
Responsibilities:
1. Monitoring the performance on receiving, storage, pasteurization, loading and shipping of products.
2. Assist the facility manager / supervisor planning and monitoring CIP/SIP processes and associated controls.
3. Implement corrective action to ensure compliance.
4. Monitoring and propose improvements, for tests, documents traceability systems, and operations to ensure product meets food safety, quality and customer standards, including FDA/USDA requirements.
5. Study and propose improvements to meet customer requirements through process and procedure changes and controls, focusing in reduce customer complaints and costs.
6. Guardian of safety systems to meet or exceed OSHA guidelines and any other safety / food safety regulatory requirements.
7. Assist the operation supervisor in the preventive maintenance program, keeping all maintenance/calibrations records and statistics.
8. Coordinate activities such as blending operations, tracking inventory to ensure that the quality and volume meets customer requirements.
9. Work in the vessel start-up operations; oversee the vessel/manifold connections for all ship unloading.
10. Identify training opportunities and develops employee skills and schedules for vessel operations.
11. Assist in planning and operate vessel unloading, pasteurization operations, working in shifts / weekends when necessary to keep the facility performance.
12. Participate / propose in the allocation planning to optimize space utilization. Plan and propose all drumming activity.
13. Participate in interviews, selection, and coordination of facility staff.
14. Assist the facility manager providing investigation and resolution of problems, evaluating performance and providing coaching to employees.
15. Coordinate initiatives related to identifying and implementing technical improvements, efficiency, and cost control programs related to the facility.
16. Assist the operation supervisor in all preventive maintenance program, evaluating the operation performance after all performed maintenance/calibrations.
17. Work with management team to identify areas of concern, define requirements, and predict potential impact of modifications. Take active role in project implementation projects.
18. Assist the facility manager developing, operating and controlling the facility budget and Capex.
19. Monitor expenditures against plan, and review, investigate, and report on variances.
20. Work in the identification, proposal and justification of capital projects, managing it to assist the facility manager.
21. Assist the facility manager collecting and organizing information in terms of trends and opportunities for cost control and process improvements.
22. Work with USDA inspector at the facility following analytical results related to quality and food safety.
23. Work with Lake Wales team, evaluating the quality / micro results and performance in the aseptic system, quality of products and management of the quality in inventory.
24. Participate to maintain / improve the company, Safety, Food Safety, GMP and Food Defense programs following and executing the corporate guidelines.
25. Work supporting the management and the team with tasks related to purchasing materials and services maintaining necessary quantities of supplies for daily plant operations.
26. Support / assist other facilities in Lake Wales and or Brazil when necessary.

3. Participate in any variety of meetings and task force groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems, and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, and policies.
