Job Title: Senior Release Train Engineer
Location: San Diego, CA or Acton, MA (Candidates must be local to either location)
Duration: July 20, 2026 – Jan 2027 (possible extenstion)
Schedule: Full-Time, 40 Hours per Week
Hourly Pay Range and Other Compensation: The hourly rate for this position is expected to be between $90-$94/hr, DOE and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Release Train Engineer (RTE) to support a Cloud Platform Agile Release Train within a regulated medical device environment. This role will partner with Product, Engineering, Architecture, Systems Engineering, and Program Management teams to drive planning, execution, and delivery across multiple Scrum teams operating within a SAFe Agile framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead PI Planning, Scrum of Scrums, ART Syncs, Inspect & Adapt events, and other SAFe ceremonies
- Coordinate planning and execution across multiple Agile teams
- Manage dependencies, risks, issues, impediments, and integration activities
- Track ART execution through metrics, reporting, and delivery forecasting
- Partner with Product Owners, Architects, and Engineering Leaders to support feature readiness and planning
- Facilitate issue resolution and stakeholder communication
- Support Agile teams and coordinate with adjacent platform and product teams
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in Agile delivery, program management, project management, Scrum Master, RTE, TPM, or related roles
- 3+ years serving as an RTE, Senior Scrum Master, Agile Program Manager, or similar leadership role
- 3+ years working within SAFe or other scaled Agile environments
- Experience supporting multiple Scrum teams and large Agile programs
- Strong dependency management, stakeholder communication, and facilitation skills
- Experience with cloud-based software platforms and distributed engineering teams
- Medical device or other regulated industry experience preferred
