Position Summary
The Professional Land Surveyor provides management and oversight for the surveying department, including survey technicians, and field staff. This role is responsible for managing complex projects, guiding staff performance, and aligning operations with company goals. The position plays a key role in strategic planning, resource management, and maintaining technical excellence across the department and organization.
Essential Functions
· Support daily operations of the surveying department, including staff and project workloads.
· Manage and enable staff to deliver complex and high-value projects.
· Collaborate with management and operations team and oversee operational standards.
· Monitor project performance, financial health, and resource utilization.
· Provide technical guidance and strategic direction on surveying practices and industry trends.
· Oversee and manage staff performing boundary, easement, deed and title reviews; conducting research, evaluating surveys and maps; construction calculations and associated deliverables.
· Provide professional responsible charge for projects performed within regional area.
Non-Essential / Additional Duties
· Participate in business development and client relationship management.
· Represent the company at industry events or professional organizations.
· Lead initiatives related to process improvement and innovation.
· Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
· A valid Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in California is required. Multiple state licensures are a plus.
· Minimum eight (8) years of combined field and office experience in land surveying, including management experience.
· Strong knowledge of surveying practices, project management, and team leadership.
· Proven ability to manage office staff, field crews and complex projects.
· Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills
· Experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D, Starnet, and Trimble Business Center software.
Preferred Credentials
· Degree in Surveying, Engineering, or related field.
· Experience managing multidisciplinary teams or large-scale projects
Pay: $120,000.00 - $145,000.00 per year
