Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Structural Engineer to join our growing team. The successful candidate will work under the direct guidance of Principal and senior engineers. This position requires managing project scopes by working closely with other project team members, disciplines, and clients. Self-motivated candidates with a desire to engineer challenging/complex structures, provide excellent client services, and continuously develop new skills will succeed at Bented Designs.
Duties
- Design and analyze simple-to-complex structural systems for various projects.
- Review historic documents of existing structures to determine load paths and construction methods.
- Collaborate with project teams to develop engineering drawings using AutoCAD and Revit software.
- Draft technical reports and documentation ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
- Participate in team meetings to discuss project status, challenges, and solutions.
- Provide on-site Structural inspections, assessments, and general construction site walks. Occasional project site visits during night shifts or early mornings may be required.
Experience
- Looking for a candidate with a minimum of 2+ years of demonstrable design experience in commercial and/or other related industries.
- A bachelor’s degree in Civil engineering with Structural emphasis is required.
- A State of Florida Professional Engineering license is not required but is preferred.
- Familiarity with Structural engineering design principles, practices, and current industry codes is required.
- Construction document drafting, modeling, and compilation experience is required for both AutoCAD and Revit.
- Experience in design software such as Enercalc and Risa is preferred.
- Experience with Bluebeam for document management and collaboration is required.
- Strong conceptual skills and attention to detail are essential for accurate analysis and design work.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary for effective collaboration within the team.
- Candidate who can perform their own drafting/modeling, engineering analysis, and project management from concept to completion is required.

Our projects range from whole water park designs, commercial buildouts, parade float designs, themed show sets, themed kiosks, ride engineering support, and other complex structures. Our clients range from general contractors, specialty vendors, Architects, MEP firms, and theme parks. We pride ourselves in engineering innovative and economical designs.
Employee working location is currently remote and is required to be in the general Central Florida area. Salary is based on experience and is negotiable.
Based on Federal Government contracts and Security requirements, all Bented employees must be U.S. Citizen or a legal permit resident. Currently Bented will not be considering any work visas sponsorship at this time.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
