Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Truck Upfitting Engineer to lead the design, development, and implementation of custom upfitting solutions for commercial trucks. Responsibilities

• Collaborate with clients and internal teams to define project requirements and develop comprehensive upfitting plans aligned with industry standards such as ASME codes & standards.
• Design mechanical systems and components using CAD software like SolidWorks and Creo, ensuring precise schematics and mechanical integrity.
• Conduct root cause analysis on design or manufacturing issues to optimize system performance and reliability.
• Develop detailed system schematics, drawings, and documentation for manufacturing and assembly processes.
• Utilize simulation tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, and FEA to validate designs under real-world conditions and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Oversee project scheduling from concept through delivery, coordinating with manufacturing teams to meet deadlines efficiently.
• Perform system design integration involving programmable logic controllers (PLCs), Arduino platforms, LabVIEW, and other automation tools to enhance vehicle functionalities.
• Apply mechanical knowledge in areas such as GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), drafting standards, and mechanical engineering principles during design reviews.
• Lead troubleshooting efforts using root cause analysis techniques to resolve technical challenges during development or post-installation phases.
• Ensure all designs adhere to relevant standards including ASME codes & standards while maintaining high-quality documentation for manufacturing and assembly.

Experience

• Proven experience in mechanical engineering with a focus on vehicle systems or industrial equipment design.
• Strong proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks and Creo for detailed mechanical design and drafting.
• Familiarity with system design tools including MATLAB, Simulink, LabVIEW, and FEA analysis software.
• Hands-on knowledge of CNC machining processes, manufacturing workflows, and quality standards like GD&T.
• Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), Arduino platforms, or similar automation hardware.
• Ability to perform root cause analysis effectively on complex technical issues related to mechanical or electrical systems.
• Knowledge of industry standards such as ASME codes & standards applicable to pressure vessels or structural components is a plus.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
