POSITION PURPOSE/SUMMARY
The Computer Technician apprentice will assist the District in obtaining maximum benefit from the educational program by assisting in the maintenance and installation of computer hardware and software.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
This person should have the appropriate background or training necessary for the successful performance of the tasks assigned and shall be enrolled in the appropriate coursework. The apprentice shall have a basic understanding of computer/equipment troubleshooting and repair and of different hardware/software platforms.

MENTAL DEMANDS
Ability to maintain highly confidential information; communicate clearly both orally and in writing, and/or ability to reason and make appropriate decisions. Solve a variety of problems in many different situations and have strong attention to detail.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing these duties, the apprentice is regularly required to reach, climb, bend, stand, and walk. The apprentice must occasionally lift, move, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
The apprentice should have good color vision, hearing, and speech capabilities. Close vision ability to look at a computer screen for long periods of time is required.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Employment will be on an at-will basis as arranged by the district, apprentice, and University as applicable. Daily work hours and a calendar will be determined at the start of the apprenticeship.
EVALUATION
Performance of this job will be monitored continuously in accordance with the provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of support staff personnel and Department of Labor apprenticeship guidelines.
