Position Summary:

A nonprofit Assistant bookkeeper helps with the organization's day-to-day bookkeeping operations. Their primary responsibilities include recording daily transactions, reconciling bank accounts, and tracking expenses for restricted and non-restricted grant funds. It will provide the accurate records for the Bookkeeper Associate to prepare monthly and annual closings.

This role focuses on maintaining accurate financial records, processing payments, and supporting reporting and audit processes within a global, trans-led organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Recording financial transactions in Excel templates and other financial software.
• Record bank deposits, track incoming grants, and process community donations.
• Processing supplier payments and reimbursements
• Maintaining accurate documentation of invoices and receipts
• Reconciling accounts, including bank accounts and credit card transactions/statements
• Supporting monthly reporting and annual audit processes

Qualifications:

Strong experience with Excel and QuickBooks Online. At least 2 years of bookkeeping or finance experience. High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Experience working in nonprofit contexts (preferred).
