Senior Systems Engineer
As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will lead the design, implementation, optimization, and security of enterprise IT infrastructure for both internal operations and client environments. This role combines advanced systems engineering expertise with strategic IT leadership, ensuring highly available, secure, scalable, and resilient infrastructure solutions across hybrid environments. You will oversee infrastructure operations, mentor technical staff, manage critical projects, and drive continuous improvement initiatives while aligning IT strategy with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities Enterprise Infrastructure Management
- Architect, deploy, and maintain enterprise-grade server, storage, virtualization, and network infrastructure.
- Lead the administration of Windows Server, Linux, Unix, and MacOS environments.
- Design scalable, fault-tolerant, and high-availability infrastructure solutions.
- Manage infrastructure lifecycle planning, upgrades, migrations, and capacity forecasting.
- Develop and enforce IT operational standards, policies, and best practices.
Systems Engineering & Virtualization
- Design and manage enterprise virtualization platforms including Hyper-V, VMware, and hybrid cloud environments.
- Oversee provisioning, optimization, monitoring, and lifecycle management of virtual machines and clustered systems.
- Implement advanced disaster recovery, business continuity, and backup strategies.
- Lead infrastructure modernization initiatives including automation, cloud integration, and virtualization optimization.
- Manage SAN/NAS storage environments and replication technologies.
Network Engineering & Security
- Administer and optimize enterprise network infrastructure including firewalls, switches, routers, VPNs, VLANs, and wireless systems.
- Design and maintain secure network architectures ensuring optimal performance and uptime.
- Troubleshoot complex network and systems issues across multi-site environments.
- Implement advanced security controls, segmentation, intrusion prevention, endpoint protection, and encryption technologies.
- Ensure infrastructure compliance with security frameworks and regulatory standards including HIPAA, GDPR, NIST, and CIS benchmarks.
Leadership & IT Management
- Lead and mentor systems administrators, support technicians, and junior engineers.
- Manage IT operations, infrastructure projects, vendor relationships, and technology roadmaps.
- Coordinate cross-functional initiatives and communicate technical strategy to executive leadership.
- Oversee project planning, budgeting, resource allocation, and implementation timelines.
- Establish and monitor KPIs, SLAs, and operational performance metrics.
Automation & Cloud Technologies
- Develop and maintain infrastructure automation using PowerShell, scripting, and configuration management tools.
- Implement Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and automation frameworks where applicable.
- Support hybrid cloud and cloud migration initiatives including Azure and Microsoft 365 integrations.
- Optimize operational efficiency through automation, monitoring, and proactive maintenance strategies.
Security, Compliance & Governance
- Lead vulnerability management, patch management, access control, and security auditing initiatives.
- Monitor SIEM/logging systems and respond to security incidents and infrastructure threats.
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery and incident response procedures.
- Ensure adherence to organizational governance, compliance standards, and cybersecurity best practices.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain enterprise-level documentation for infrastructure architecture, procedures, and operational workflows.
- Produce executive-level reporting on infrastructure health, performance, risk assessments, and project status.
- Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and technical knowledge base documentation.

Qualifications
- Minimum 5–10 years of progressive IT infrastructure and systems engineering experience.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
