• Manage federal, state, and local payroll tax reporting requirements
• Reconcile quarterly and annual tax filings
• Verify and balance payroll registers, tax deposits, and related reports
• Monitor changes to payroll tax regulations and ensure ongoing compliance
• Establish and maintain federal, state, local, and SUI tax accounts
• Track remote employee tax setups and multi-jurisdictional requirements
• Prepare tax adjustments and coordinate processing with payroll vendors

"Tax Guidance & Employee Support"

• Serve as the primary contact for tax agencies, audits, tax reconciliations, and new tax jurisdictions
• Partner with payroll vendors and maintain strong external relationships
• Provide payroll tax guidance and support to Payroll, HR, and employees
• Manage power of attorney (POA) documentation for tax agencies
• Coordinate local tax refund requests for employees, as applicable
• Partner with leadership on tax withholding considerations for regular, bonus, and off-cycle payrolls

"Leave Program Administration"

• Support the creation and maintenance of PTO and sick leave plans within the payroll system
• Research and interpret state and local sick leave requirements, paid family leave programs, and regulations affecting remote emp

"Payroll Operations"

• Review tax withholdings and supplemental withholding calculations related to bonus and off-cycle payrolls
• Support semi-monthly and monthly payroll processing as needed
• Process pay rate and status changes
• Manage manual checks, off-cycle payroll requests, wire transfers, and same-day ACH transactions

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field
• 3–5 years of experience managing multi-state payroll taxes and reconciliations
• 5–7 years of payroll processing experience
• Strong understanding of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations
• Experience supporting remote employees across multiple tax jurisdictions
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel
• Experience with payroll platforms such as UKG/UltiPro preferred
• Familiarity with records management systems is a plus
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
